I'm thinking I want to buy one or the other, but not both. I know price-wise they are quite a bit different, but I thought I'd ask you guys. I am actually going to wear this watch, it is not going to sit in some glass case. Are there any issues or problems with either of these that would make you say 'for actual use x is better than y.' Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

I'd go with the Tank.

You'll receive tons of copmliments and you won't have a "rubber strap" on a $2,700+ watch to have to cut. Keep in mind that "rubber strap" WILL break down over time if you wear it. I was told before that it wouldn't, but I'd bet almost any money if someone wears their "rubber strap" watch on a regular basis over 10+ years that that strap will fail at some point... You'll have nothing to worry about with the Tank. And it'll be a lot easier on the wallet.

Yeah Time Tank. Rugged as anything and certainly gets the compliments.

TT from me as well. I actually prefer the design of the TT over the TBII. I haven't really had an urge to snag a TBII, price be damned! LOL

Time tank. Cutting a rubber strap on a 2,700$ watch is bad design. That is like having to take scissors and cut your sleeves down on a brand new versace suit.

I think the TT has a cooler design. I am at a tossup though between the TT and the hollow point.

Agreed, if I had the 2K for an Orange Hollowpoint, I'd be all about that.

And this is why I asked you guys. That is a pretty one sided endorsement! I do love the styling of the time tank as well as the styling of the Time bomb 2. I didn't know that the strap was just rubber under titanium plates! I thought there was more to it than that, had I known that the choice would have been obvious. Sort of reminds me of the Pitboss. Yes it has titanium plates, but they are strictly for show and offer no strengthening to the frame.

On top of everything the Tank is cheaper which means I can buy that AND a pair of x-squared carbon polished!!!

Since Hollowpoint wasn't mentioned in the initial post, I didn't even think about it. But I would agree with Dann, HP would be a more enticing consideration to the TT.

I disagree on looks alone. I tried on a hollow point and it did nothing for me. I guess it's more conventional in a sense and doesn't scream OAKLEY like TT or TB. Functionally I will say it is a lot lighter than TT and possibly a better time piece, but I'm not too clear on the reasons for that.

Sorry, I can't help you out a whole lot because I have both. But you'll probably feel better wearing the TT more regularly compared to the TB. The designs of them both are amazing though.

Jordan,
You can help me. Do you find yourself favoring one over the other? Do you worry about the strap on the TB?

One other point I forgot to ask everyone, I have small wrists I definately know the TT will fit me because of the way the strap wraps my wrist, it's obvious it fits. The TB on the other hand seems slightly wide and the saddle goes beyond my wrist. Has anyone had an issue with it fitting them?

I have small wrist too and they both fit me well. But I like oversized things. Ill wear my TT more just because it fits with my style more. But I try and wear both just as often. Comfort is same with both too.

As far as the strap with the TB is concerned; I have no problem that you have to cut it. My wrist will never grow and probably will never sell it. In any case replacements can be ordered too. I got the TB but of all the specs obviously (mainly being automatic). But I wanted something out of the Elite collection. Just the designs and work that goes toward everything is this line amazes me. People might not like it and think that it is overpriced but in reality comparing it to other brands and such, it really isn't. Good automatic watches go for around 7k if i remember correctly...

Thanks for the help guys. So, here's what my brain decided. Why buy just a TB when you can buy a TT and something else with the extra cash you would have spent otherwise.... So I got:

Love the yellow highlights! Not too much bling but enough that it isn't boring like some of the colorways.

AND the icing on the cake!

Both should be arriving early next week!!!!

Great choices, Jason. Maybe you could do a PW shot wearing both (when they arrive, of course).

Good Call Jason.... in the end you have to got with what works for you, and this combo is great. Totally love the TT with the yellow highlights.
And yes a PW will be required.

Thanks guys! with this purchase I am now officially in two elite clubs. I am finally an Oakley watch owner and I am now officially a watch nerd! I have a Panerai Luminor Marina and now this. Obviously the Panerai is my classy dress watch, but my TT is my everything else watch. I will post photos of my two purchases and possibly a PW as well. :D

Good choice Jason. I have a Time Tank and love it to bits. As others have said, you'll get plenty of compliments!

I've also just grabbed those Polished Carbon X-Squared. They're beautiful hey?!

Looking forward to seeing the pictures!

The yellow/orange contrast on the TT colorway is fantastic. I'm sure you will enjoy the watch immensely.

Got the TT yesterday, wow is all I have to say! I would describe it as badassness distilled into a military weapon for your wrist. Then... I scuffed it! DOH!!! It's very minor and I'm not even sure how I did it to be honest, but I just have to be more careful.

The polished carbon x-squareds I won on eBay were shipped to my place and arrived earlier this week, one problem though, the seller accidentally sent me the polished VR28s instead! I was soooo furious at first. Then I realized that this mistake would cost the poor guy over $100 in shipping because these were supposed to go to a different buyer and he now had to rush ship mine back to himself and then overnight both! Any way I just got the polished carbons in the mail and just about pissed myself when I opened up the box. These are BOSS!! Definitely going post some pics and a PW!!!

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. I will say though, part of me still really wants the TB2... haha it never ends.
