Artifact: Oakley Razor Blades
Uncrate has a new article and a few pictures up, showcasing the Blade. Since Mike Bell at Oakley has become the resident historian (and with good reason), he has a metal case with the iconic product that defined Oakley in the early days. I had the pleasure of meeting up with him over the summer and even got a photo of the legendary case:

The article goes over a few additional tidbits of information, and includes a few high res photos.

The timing is also perfect, since I was able to add the great majority of the Blade System products into the database just this past week.

Great stuff. That article and the tennis pro anecdote lends credence to the Strip lens creation (or was it the Slit lens since we're talking about Razor Blades?).

I was told Strip once upon a time, but only via word of mouth on a tour, so truth be told, the Slit would make more sense since it was earlier, and came only as an accessory lens while the Strip was bundled on a few colorways.

Great pic and great read.
Reference you would think is the strip which would support other stories we've heard but if it was the slit I don't recall seeing or hearing tennis pro wearing razor blades?

I thought it was a cycling athlete too, yet other rumors were that it was Glen Plake.
