Recently I aquired a Time Tank. I noticed pretty much in the first 24 hrs that it was Faulty...so i had to send it in for repair. Now since it came from the US i didn't want to send it back there so i contatced Oakley South Pacific here in Australia and they were happy to repair, but i would have to wait till a new movement arrived from the US. Well about 2-3 weeks later my watch was returned all working.

At first i didn't notice why, but it kinda looked diiferent than i remembered..... and it was today 1 day later that it dawned on me. The dials on the face are now silver. When the watch was sent in they were Black. They have repleced the movment with the same color combo as on the Leather band version.

So the question I'm posing here is should i get it changed back to what i had?

I'm kinda torn as what to do because i like both combos.

When i first bought the watch:

That's a tuff one...I personally like the black on the chrono...however, the other combo you have now is more or less a custom set up...

i kind of like it... the contrast is lost with the lack of black subdials but now the whole watch looks quite monolithic in it's Silver/Titanium simplicity. it quite menacing, really... like an opposite of Stealth Black.

and like everyone else says, you've got yourself a custom.

I'd take the current version you have - hands down...is that an actual available option or would I have to break mine and send it in for that?

Seriously - love your newer version.... In car terms - it would be called "monochrome" - which is car talk for "friggin' cool!"

or BLING BLING.

Personally i like the first one better but since its a custom now i would think its a keeper.

I am with the first one. Funny thing is, I have the opposite in the black on black and am DAMN happy it is. I don't like the silver chrono dials on the black face. I do like the silver on black you had though. Stick with the first, it is too bland on the second IMHO...With the all black, it is okay because all of the markers are colored in a contrast that stands out, but in that, it seems to not have any "POP" even though there is contrast. Ultimately, it is what you like and go with your gut..

Wow, the silver dials look cool on it. Its different and it could justify you getting the black one again and have 2 of them.

When (at some point in my life - hopefully soon) I finally get one - I'll trade you straight up for the one you have.... For the new one I have just bought that was the same as the one you had.

(follow that?)

Pick whatever you're going to appreciate the most. Though I have to say the all silver face doesn't look too bad.

I think the black on silver looks better. I'd be asking for my watch in the original condition if I were you :)

I understand why people say to keep it this way for the uniqueness. But practically I would want the original back. The colour scheme now looks too 'flat' for me.

So there's only one thing to do.... keep this for display/collection purposes and get a new one for every day use :-)

(By the way, did you notice they changed the date and time for you as well?)

I like the original better to look at- but how many people (even here) can say they have a unique Tank?

For what it's worth I prefer the latter. Matte silver's classy on a watch.

The first pic was taken with flash while the second wasn't, so the all-silver face doesn't pop out as much as it should've.

That said, I prefer the all-silver face. Keep it!

Mike, in the end it's up to you. Do you want to send it back, again? Have it tinkered with, again?

Could you imagine if they sent that back and your original face had the diamonds on it.

Thanks for all of the input Guys. I have taken all comments on board, that combined with wearing it for the past couple of days i have decided to keep it as is. It has really grown on me, and it's not that i didn't ever like it, it was just that it wasn't original. But the combo works, and as has been said it is sorta a one off at this time since Oakley won't sell the bands seperately. A Factory Custom if I may.
Might i add it does seem to have a little more Bling being all silver.

Also in my first post i have taken another shot of the all silver face to give a better comparison.

Thanks again for all of your input and helping me decide.

And yes some diamonds would have been real nice Ob.

I'd say keep it as is but that would be silly at this point wouldn't it?
(By the way, did you notice they changed the date and time for you as well?)
I believe this particular model does that on it's own, am I correct Mike?
