Hello fellow members. I will be headed to the continent next week and will be making sure that i visit at least one vault while there. I'm sure items and prices vary somewhat from vault to vault but I was just wanted to get an idea of what they currently have and what they may be anticipating getting in the near future. Also it would help me to more accurately calculate how much longer I have to wait before I can truly be come "debt free" hehe. Oh, the vault I am guaranteed to go to is the Las Vegas one with possible stop overs to the Carlsbad and Cabazon as well as Headquarters. If you know of specific stuff (watches, limited editions, any x metals, etc.) I would love to hear about it.

I've seen the Scelzi R2 for $299, Stealth TB for $250, Violet riddle, tons of wardens, some Splice, the Fives, and a lot of plano Rx frame with non-iridium sunglass lenses.

What's the word on Paramus, NJ O-Store possibly becoming a Vault due to low sales? Or have things picked up for them?

Whoa! 250$ for a Time Bomb? I need to get a piece of that! What was the retail on them?

i think it is most supply and no demand.. since they have been around for a couple of years..
i bought mine new in 2001, so yeah i paid full retail on it. i will get another.

The vaults near me all had x-metal/black iridium Mars. I've seen the TBs from $250(stealth only) - $400 (all other colors) and the Icon/Icon Small watches for $400. I've also seen the orange Judge for $250.

Most of the shoes in my neck of the woods are pretty cheap too (20-45 a pair). Also, they have a lot of luggage at my local o-stores. Most of it is still pricey, but definitly cheaper than retail

The Timebomb was 1300 since it was the Steel version. Still a decent drop in price.

I've seen Chrome, Rootbeer and Ice Splice's. All for $69

The Vault by my house didn't have any X-metal's recently that were discounted. I managed to get a pair of Mars Leathers for $150 about 6-8 months ago from the Vault (at the time all discontinued X-metals were $150). Right now though they seem to have Big Squares in spades old fives, fours, assorted M-frames, new Zeros etc on discount. Nothing that fantastic IMO. They do have a ton of apparel lately though.

I was just thinking about that Pez. I'm looking to update my Oakley apparel (even though i have more clothes already than my GF) hehe. Is their apparel typically heavily reduced or usually only slightly? To give an Idea I would say 40% or greater IMO is heavily reduced.

I would say between 30-60% depending. I would have to look just to make sure. Anything in particular you were thinking of? (Why do I get the feeling I'm going to be a personal shopper this weekend? :) )

i was looking for some cargo pants (pedestrian, AIE) and Golf pants with vents (Slice, etc.) and Shorts. I would have to see the dress shirts. No need to shop for me...for net week anyway hehe. Man i better take out a second mortgage before I get up there hehe.

The apparel is usually very cheap compared to retail. I would say in the 40-60% off range. I have a closet full of o-shirts that I didn't pay more than $15/shirt for (either long or short sleeved button downs, I don't wear t-shirts :))

Shoes are usually a steal too because they are last seasons, but you have to pray that they have your size. If you have a small or big foot, you are usually golden, but the size 9-11s go fast. I have 3 or 4 pairs of sandalls that are size 13s eventhough I wear a 12.5 because I picked them up for less than $20 a pair.

Also, if you have more than one Vault in your area (The Houston-Austin-San Antonio triangle has 3 vaults and two o-stores), they don't all offer the same things for the same price. I know that I paid 49 for my pair of Whiskey MDs at the San Marcos Vault but 69 for the same pair a week later at the Round Rock Vault. I didn't realize it until until I got home, or I would have driven down to San Marcos and gotten the second pair there (I had purchased 3 pairs of glasses and 6 pairs of shoes that day and the extra $20 didn't really register until I looked at the receipt when I got home). So what I usually do is if I find something while in one store, I call all of the other vaults/o-stores/my two favorite OPDs in my area to see if they have a better price on the same item. If they do, I send the closest family member/friend to buy and ship it for me - gotta love speed dial :)

Often those are pairs that were demos for a long time.

haha did Chris just say "I need some splices"? U mean u want some splices :-D At 500 pairs, u dont need anything anymore. But then again, we're all addicts here so I guess need was the more appropriate word :-). I havent seen anything special at the greatmall Vault

2 Vaults just opened on the outskirts of LA County.
1 vault @ Ontario Mills, and another @ the Camarillo Outlets.
Both are roughly an hour away from LA, no traffic of course.
