My sister saw some of the new women’s shades and I finally talked her into letting me get her first pair ever. As she has seen me grow up following the O, I want to find a good match for her. It’s kind of a “see what I mean” type of feeling.

Anyways, I was hoping for a polarized lens that wasn’t grey or bronze. I realize there is a polarized VR28 Script, and this may be what I end up getting. Since the women line seems pretty limited, I figured I’d throw it to the all-knowing review members and see if anything turns up.

I also considered cutting lenses, but I’d need a whole sheet of Plutonite for the large goggle-esque styles. And I don’t know if cutting a polarized lens is the same as a normal one.

Any suggestions?

Your guidelines of polarized and no grey/bronze really kill most options - since that is about all Oakley has been churning out in recent years.

I think Disobey and Dart would be some of my favorite women's frame options.

I imagine before long, I'll sellout on the polarized option and go for something else.

Unless you're spending a large chunk of time out on the water, the polarized lenses aren't going to make a big difference. Since most people need you to explain the difference, and wouldn't now if you didn't say anything...

I'd find a style that fits her face and looks hot. I personally love the Tort/Blue Script (great when a girl's got a nice summer tan to set off the blue).

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I’ll consider all those. I honestly hadn’t even thought of a Gascan. And we’ve all seen some great combos on those.

She is on the water more than a lot of people, but it still might not be enough to justify the extra $ for a polarized lens, just like you said Brian.

I actually disagree with the other Brian about polarized lenses. I became addicted to them after driving 90 minutes everyday in the Nevada desert. They are great around water but in my opinion they are also great anytime the sun is out. If I could only ever wear one Oakley lens it would be BI Polarized.

I ran into this problem with my best friend who is a girl. Her first pair ended up being BI Polarized Crosshairs and she fell in love with them. She now has I think 11 pairs and they are still her favorites. My best advice to you would be to let her try on as many as she can to decide which ones she likes best. Women look for different things than guys do when it comes to picking out sunglasses. The last thing you want to do is pick a pair for her that she'll never wear.

That's a good point. Since I put VR28 Blk Ir Plrzd in my Art Chantry, I pretty much wear this pair 90% of the time...ok a part of the reason is because of the frame itself, but I must admit that sometimes I don't care much about the style and wear this anyway simply cuz of the lenses. Afterall it's my only polarized pair, and I sure as hell make good use of them

Salazabr, how right you are. What am I doing asking a bunch of guys what a girl would like? (Unless any female members want to chime in.) That is the age-old puzzle.

If we could pick their sunglasses, we could also travel through time, and other kinds of impossible stuff. LOL

I think Crosshairs look great on women but i like the Hyjinx looks very good too. My wife wears Whiskers & they look fantastic on her as well

Piggy-backing on what Tick said, I vote for Chrome/VR28 Crosshair. My wife has worn that pair more than all her other pairs combined.

I've got a pair of Ti Crosshairs with VR28 BI Polarized on the way from steepandcheap and I can't wait to check them out.

B3 good luck and I really do you think you should let her pick out which pair she likes best. My friend has some from the women's line and some from the "mens" line too. It all depends on what fits/ looks good on her. Having said that Crosshairs are a pretty safe bet. They looks good on almost everyone and I've seen just as many women wearing them as men.

my gf has whiskers fives and fives 3.0. allthree of these pairs look good on her. she hs the fives 3.0 in a tortoise with a polorized bronze lens. they are my favorite one her.

My girlfriend has a pair of Riddle's and they are pretty wide. So if you look at those just keep that i mind.

Why don't you just take her to a shop and have her try some on? You'll know what she really likes that way.

Luke, we live in different parts of the country. Otherwise, that would be the easiest way. I could just tell her to go out and look for herself though.

Definitely let her go and try stuff on for herself and tell you what she likes. My partner has a pair of powder blue HJ, a pair of the pink Flak Jackets, a pair of +red pearl Monster Dogs and two pairs of teaspoons (one emerald slate and one blue black). She never wears any of them. She actually wears my T wires, my Why 3 (the Ruby Clears and the VR50 Emerald which I almost never dare wear), my Monster Dog +red night camo, my SI Half Jackets and my Aluminium ones, my Ichiro Juliets and my Ti clear and my Finito Juliets, as well as both my Matco square wires.

Now I just buy her pairs of what she likes in different colours.

I think she is a keeper too. I just wish she could understand what she's wearing (and why I look pained when she pulls a pair of Why 3 Ruby clear off with one hand or throws a pair of Ichiro on the table). I've tried explaining about lenses but it just goes straight over her head. Lucky it is a very pretty head...

Where is she on the water a lot in C-Bus? Does she go to Alum Creek a lot or what?

That being said, I think if you let her go to Iron Pony out in Westerville and try on a bunch of pairs, you'll both end up finding a pair that looks best on her. Also, you can count it as a bonding moment and her getting to know one of your passions better.

I do have to say that my girlfriend looks best in Darts. A lot of the girls are in love with the polished gold frame as well.
