Holy cow, that looks amazing. Looking at the icon it does have the shape of the icons that will be in the elite line...

However I don't think it is one of the elite series, my guess is that this is the pit boss...

They look decent, but Oakley should jack the price up a bit more. Maybe $10,000 would be better.

Retail for Pit Boss isnt as crazy as you think. The Carbon Fiber models...thats another story.

:) Do you have any idea in what price range the pit boss will be?

As I think the carbon fiber, or combos with partial carbon fiber will be in the 1000-4000 price range.

$500+ for a hybrid o-matter/titanium pair is as bad as we think! there isn't enough titanium there to warrant that kind of price hike!! I can't pass full judgment until I handle one in person and see what all will be included for the suggested retail price, but that is quite expensive considering. Still looks leaps and bounds better than the Half X!!

that's a better price range, but that makes me worry what Aus RRP will be. Ah well I guess we will just have to wait and see.

With the economy and some people owing taxes the Elite thing just shows how detached Oakley/Luxxotica may be from the public ...the new Fives are great and at a good price then I hear 500-4000 for "Elite" sunglasses!. That's a great picture and I miss the Splice but would never go higher than 150-160 for sunglasses. That's like people that pay hundreds for a comic book...I don't get it.

Well, $500,- I will pay that for these glasses as I see them so. They are just way too awesome, and with partially titanium is just great. (oh, and the Elite logo is great to have on you earstems :P)

I feel Dann's fear. I really like it. I even like the display it's sitting on. After seeing this, though, I know the CF models will be disappointing given what their current design is, which is good for me and my wallet.

Thanks for the pic, OB.

Expensive or not, this is a (dare I say) throwback to the kind of bold, industrial design that set Oakley apart from the rest in the past.

Thanks for posting the pic, Ob. Good choice of words for the thread title, too.

Pit Boss is $560 for each of the three models. I have the info in the database, but I'm not sure if I made it public yet.
