What are your favorite custom Oakleys? These can be in your current lineup or something you'd love to see or own. By the way, you inspired me to create this thread, Oak. Don't think we've had one quite like it yet.

The custom that comes to my mind most readily are:

-Eric's (TheVault) recent White Camo with red chrome icons and Ruby iridium MD. That was just beautiful.
-o-xide's mix-and-match X-metals where he exchanged couplers on certain models. Though there are some sellers offering those kinda customs now, Cal revolutionized X-metal customization with that. It was the first of it's kind and amazing to this day. Truly incredible stuff.
-GMT's airbrushed Monster Dog with the skull and red Juliet. Again, some sellers are doing this custom now, but what GMT was revolutionary in terms of frame customization.
-Zev and Oogie's custom splatter frames. Very fun stuff.

I'm forgetting tons, but those are the ones that jump to mind just now.

My Splice's of course. Painting thanks to Dr. Chop.

As well as my fire Fatcat, which works a lot better than the Ice one.

And the black leather Mars, modeled after the one on ebay that got away.

I have a bunch of things I've just thrown new lenses in, but I think these are very unique. I only know of one other set of EP VR50 Emerald Iridium lenses, and not in the bottle green stretchline frames.

Okay, and while simple...these are pretty cool too.

Oak had a great selection and good reasons for:

I always love it when the Icons match the lens; there were many cool Icons from the Grab Bag program that some members were pretty creative with them.

The custom Spike I gave to a friend was one of my favorite, even if I only added the Gold Icons after I bought the frame from total_o;

-Black Chrome Spike / 24K lens / Gold Icons

Another one that stands out;

-The Frosted clear FatCat that was on Ebay a few years ago

And one of my favorite:

-The o-whores beautiful athlete exclusive New Zero white /Ice iridium with a blue design on the earstem.

-Oak's Clear Thump 1

I've always liked Cal's custom Juliet frames, too.

Here are a few of my favorite customs from the collection. It seems like "I've got the blues":

Carbon/Ice Penny

Polished Carbon/OO Blue Ichiro Juliet

Polished Aluminum/Deep Blue Polarized Half Jacket XLJ

Hey Mike, that's a Chrome/Ruby Monster Dog which I was ecastatic to find out was a factory custom. I had always wondered if someone had applied the chrome coating after the fact...now I know!

After seeing one of Dann's custom Splice's first hand...they are pretty special. :)

The chrome dogs are absolutely a sight to behold.

And Dann's custom painted splice is another true standout.

The lesson learned is that while you can tell they are special by the pictures, you can only really appreciate these awesome customs by having the chance to check them out in person.

Those are pretty damn cool, and inspiring an idea for a Pearl/Matte white Ruby combo?????? Anyone game???

Dann's really do need to be seen in the light in person. They came out way better than I imagined, but so cool. I should have brought my chop glasses to show the icons off. Holographic icons on a matte black/clear strike m frame...I am playing with the idea of some other color combos.

Yukio, I found that picture of the custom Splice (and a similar Ice version) on a Japanese Oakley site back in 2002; I don't have the site bookmarked and I imagine it is defunct by now.

Japanese Oakley site...as in corporate or fan-based?

Fan-based. It might have been a blog affiliated with a dealer, but wasn't oakley.jp or anything like that.

Finally, after a bit of tweaking they are complete. A huge "thank you" goes out to the master of customization for his help in creating these:

CO2/Polarized Black with White Unobtainium

And credit goes to Cal for the naming of the frame.

FIVES SQUARED
Frames: Rootbeer
Lenses: VR-28 Black Iridium Polarized
Icons: Red

I liked the look of the Ducati editions at SGH but the black frames were too bold for me.
I also LOVE the VR-28 Black Iridium in my Radars.
So naturally, this is what I went with...

I'd have to say my polished ruby Pennies but I really suck at the execution of customs....
