So here's the thought. A group of Oakley fanatics along with some Oakley sponsored Celebs and a few Oakley over the top employees are in a race from New York to HQ. The catch is predetermined stops along the way at certain Vaults and/or O-stores. Kind of like a Rally or European Road Race, or the movie!!! Lots of money, lots of planning, and just crazy enough for our over the top, tongue in cheek, dare to be great friends at HQ to bite on....So whos in??? Great idea for the Co-Pilot Reunion.
i see bull run. with mars and juliets.
this would be sick, i haven't drive and wouldn't drive.
sounds like fun.
which car should be in it. oakley apparel and eyewear a must.
So, I've wanted to do the Gumball 3000 for some time, but I know this would be better. I'm down. We have to do it in winter, though. Snow is the only place my Jeep would have an advantage in a race...
Summer for me, have you seen my truck, I'd freeze in the winter. I wonder if Oakley would truly be down for something like this? Anybody got the cell number to Colin, put the bug in his ear. The cars would have to be adorned with a multitude of Oakley, like the gumball cars have the Gumball insignias plastered all over 'em.
If the economy was better - I'd be down in a heartbeat, Great Idea. I'd have to drive halfway to NY to come back but still - I'd be in. Bring it. Sounds like a blast.
Pretty sure I have the vehicle for it - especially if we do it in the winter.
I'd so be down, but I'm with Ian, unless he do it in the snow, OR, if it's partially off-road, my Jeep just isn't going to cut it...not to mention cost me literally a fortune in Gas! '38's drink that stuff up like crazy!
A bunch of us can pack into my minivan - there's no middle bench so we can really squeeze quite a few people in there...although the excessive weight could slow us down a bit...either way, I'm in. Just let me know when and where :)
I was told by that they will be switching over to Toyota Vehicles.
The first was the V8 4Runner that Cale was using, it just hadn't been painted as yet, but was to be done shortly.
Wish they would choose an "AMERICAN" manufacturer. The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series truck sponsored by OAKLEY driven by Ricky Carmichael is a CHEVY Silverado.
As much as I hate to admit it, I think a "Made in the USA" company should have gone with an American motor company. (Don't get me started - suffice to say I prefer the Toyota switch)
what an well thought out statement. If gm "Dives Off A Cliff" as you put it, it will drag down 10's of thousands of jobs, and pretty much drive the country right to the depression of the 21st century. Do you realize how many people are employed directly or in-directly through GM and it's affiliates? Many GM's are built in Mexico & Canada...
Having a bad taste in your mouth because you bought an old used car that wasn't one of their best offerings is no reason to bash them. I can tell you from having sold cars, GM, Chevy, Nissan, Mitsubishi, VW, and some others, they are all fair. Nobody is perfect. Honda's interiors fall apart FAST, Toyota also have interior issues, Nissan had many transmission problems, Chevrolet/GM has had many problems, as well as all the others. It all depends. I have had 2 VW's and not so much as a Hiccup...My wife, she has had 4 of them have had their issues. I had 3 Chevy Trucks, what was wrong with any of them??? NOTHING! My 2007 Silverado got better mileage with a 5.3l V8 (22-23mpg towing) than a Toyota Tacoma with a V6 (16-18 solo)!! Now what? It was also quiter. Oh, and my Colorado that one that was destroyed, I walked away without some much as a cut!! My 2 Kias, guess what, NO PROBLEMS!! And the 1st one which was totaled, I also clicked off my seat belt, and walked out without a scratch...
What I am trying to say, is you get good and bad with all. My wife watched a LEXUS burn to the ground right next to her in a parking lot while shopping during the holidays. Sound desirable?? Not to me.
Your views are yours, and I respect your right. I am just glad there isn't a few more million who think like that here, because we will all be in bread lines if that were the case. GM employs thousands of US citizens. They are huge. If they fall, just like Countrywide did, it will be the domino to set the whole chain in motion. Chrysler may just be the first one actually, but any of the 3 will. So, in letting one of the fall, they all fall, which in turn causes MASS job loss across the country. 10% of the labor is tied to the auto industry.
Do you now comprehend how deeply rooted they are?? Do you think your local parts store will need to stay open and employ 10+ people? Doubtful...How about multiplying that by thousands, and the truckers, manufacturing plants, and so on. What about the jobs in Canada? Mexico? It is all tied together. Australia, Europe, Asia...You haven't got a clue. To wish an entity like any of the big 3 to fail is to say you want hundreds of thousands jobless, and to that sir, many will take offense. That is like sticking your middle finger up at soldiers because politicians sent them to war. Good evening.
Oh, and I missed the final part..They are far from behind anyone...They are actually ahead of many..How many of those beloved Toyota trucks are getting better mileage than a GM? Not many, maybe the baby sized Tacoma with a 4 cylinder engine...That's the only one...HHHMMM, yeah, behind what? And they were getting better mileage without MDS systems in place.
