based on these pics, i gonna have to go with the titanium black irids..they are all very, very nice.

Agreed, all of them are cool, but the ones with the Black Iridium Polarized ended up being my favorite by a large margin.

I have the Matte Black/Ti Pit Boss, and I can honestly say that it is the most impressive frame I have seen or put on since the Juliet (and I'm not trying to restart the comparison debate between the two. They are two completely different frames, and all I mean is that the Juliet blew me away when I first put it on, and so does the Pit Boss). I will say this, if you're looking at the pics on the Oakley website, they seem a bit darker than the Ti plates actually are. The first bunch of pics in the thread are pretty accurate. I know it's a good chunk of change, but the Pit Boss definitely gets five stars from me!!

I know a few people are saying Black Ir and Ti plates, but I am loving the VR28 Black pair and the Gunmetal plates are not as dark as they come off in photos when you have the out in the sun playing against the polished black. Plus a polished black icon instead Gunmetal on them is awesome.

Man, somebody needs to post a pic of the Matte Black/Ti side by side with the Polished Black/Gunmetal so we can see the difference.

More pics will help. Can someone post some pics of the wearing them? Or beside another glass? I'm in Alaska now and every Oakley dealer says the aren't getting them. I would like to know how big they really are before I buy a pair. Thanks

For reference: Eye Patch is big on me. Antix and Hijinx are too big for me. MD and MPs are a perfect fit. As are Juliets and Half-X. The large in these Pit Boss is the slight raise in orbital of the brow.

Anyone else notice how the Pit Boss shares the same 'X' nose bridge as the Romeo? I thought about it the other day when I saw that frontal pic up above, but the side-by-side pic really displays it. I'd say the glass pulls the very best design elements from at least 10 of the top frames.

Yeah, someone commented to me about the exact same thing a while back. That's why I thought the PB design has a lot of potential of being a more unique piece rather than a mish mash of the best of previous styles (though it is very cool as it is). It would've been cool if they had put a titanium plate in the shape of an "X" on that section and less Ti on the sides. It would've given it a Matrix-y X-metal-taking-over-O Matter look.

Okay, I finally saw a side-by-side comparison of the two black frame colors today, and the Gunmetal is obviously darker that the Ti, but not so much so that it blends in with the frame. It is definitely not as dark as it looks on the Oakley website. I alo noticed that the gunmetal plates show fingerprints a lot more that the Ti plates do. Once they've been handled a bit, the plates do appear to get a bit darker.

Yes, unfortunately they do. I am constantly wiping mine down.

One thing that becomes apparent looking at Oak's side-by-side pic is just how freaking cool the original Romeo is! The PB is pretty cool in its own right.

I got to try on a pair of pitboss yesterday, and they are great! Not as nice a fit for me as the x-metal xx or the juliet, but better than the monster dog. I think repeated long time wearing is required for more comparison though.

In other words, I am going even crazier now waiting for my pair to come in!!

Amazing pics Phil. you look great in them. They are huge glasses...I thought romeos were big X-metals...
They may be too big for my mug...but i have to get them.

The gunmetal looks better than expected. I love the polished black. It makes my margin of choosing the Ti Black Irds a little smaller.

I would go for the GunMetals had it not been for the VR28. I love the lens but in this quality and price of glasses, I am interested in unaltering the visual spectrum as much as possible.
