Dont have to Rick, its comin here in '08. Should be unvailed soon in Japan as a late '07. I was talking more about being able to afford it. It's supposed to start in the $60's or $70's I think.
boy, I bet that pissed off a lot of hardcore skyline junkies...put the new flagship ride on the infinity platform...That car looks very sick, but maybe too small to challenge a true euro sports car. I would like to see how it fairs against an m5 and a z06 though...
We shall see. I'm really looking forward to the track tests. Personally, I think its gonna blow them both outta the water, but I'm an AWD fanatic so maybe there's some bias.
So Bill, do you know if it will be released as the Nissan Skyline there or will they dull it down like they did with the G35 by making it part of the Infiniti line for the North American market? Whatever the case, it looks like a wicked machine and I have no doubt it will compete with the 'Vette and the M3.
I´ve read some reports in the german car magazines.
It´ll have the V8 engine from the limousine but of course with a turbo, they assume that it will have around 550 PS.
Nissan Europe wrote in their statement on the new GTR that they plan to set it in the league of 911 Turbo, F430.
In my opinion this is very very very optimistically...
One thing is for sure...the price in germany will be over 100.000 Euros. And I think that´s why there only will be sold very few...who pays 100.000 euros for a Nissan?
Especially when you look at what you can buy for the same money...
it may be produced and able to beat them off the line, but I doubt highly it will be able to handle in the leagues of the Porsche, especially if you go awd vs. awd, but we will have to wait and see...They always get tamed when they come here...
The Skyline GTR turbo can be had for peanuts here in the UK. I'm seriously thinking about getting one as a replacement for my sadly departed F355 but it needs to be Veilsided up to the gills. The new one looks very tasty though but is overpriced when compared to its predecessor.
yeah, the R32's keep cropping up on eBay here in Britain and generally reach around £4k (about $7k), its the V-spec II that generally reach £10K and above and those tend to be, by and large, already well modified and tuned
hey cheung, check out Nemesis, they're the only tuners in the UK who are fully endorsed by Veilside themselves and have some sweet showcars (they always have a stand at max power live)
I had no idea they were that cheap in the UK, you cant get one imported here for less than $100K. The new GTR will make it here under the Nissan badge according to web news and I'd bet it will fall somewhere in between an M3 and 911 Turbo performance wise. Its main competitors will most likely be Carrera's, and Audi's new R6 coupe.
I've seen a new RS4 AVANT with 4 people in it and the carrera 4 next to it had no chance... imagine that, a station wagon (?) was faster than a sports car.
I always was a big fan of the original skyline, but this new one... is nice, but nothing special. I don't see any connection to the original.
Just like the new VW Iroc. The Scirocco was awesome and the first concept of the new Scirocco was also very nice (like a 2k1 facelift). But the latest concept looks like the new Volvo C30...
Well, I prefer when cars that have a history show that they have history, just like the new mustang, the new charger etc.
I don't think it will necessarly be "overpriced" but more like dealers charging huge mark-ups over sticker. I remember when the Honda S2000 came out dealers were getting upwards of 10k OVER sticker for it.
The talk of a new Supra has been tossed around for a while. I wouldn't count on next year.
My bother-in-law has had a deposit down on the new Supra for the past year to be the first that takes delivery in the Philly area when it actually becomes avaliable.
every price estimate I've seen is in the 50,000GBP range which is about $93,000. for a Nissan, that's pretty overpriced. I'd stick with an M5 and save about 10k.
Its bound to happen Rick. There were some many special versions of the R34 (the last being the very sexy V-Spec II M). But then, alot of the special editions never hit the US. We still dont have a Spec C or Prodrive STI and probably never will.
