Yes, that is a very very rare positive red. I don't think they'll be on OCE anytime soon the positive red had been discontinued in the Radar.

the positive red had been discontinued in the Radar
Yes, that is the story we heard too, sorry to say. I know of three pairs including my pair, Josh's, and one other pair overseas. However, I am sure a few more samples and the like are still floating around in the world somewhere...under the radar I would say!!?
:) LOL

What was it that caused them to remove + Red from production?

something to do with the Iridium have side effects from the foam in the case is what I was told when I originally found out that they were recalled...Replaced with VR28 Black

Glad you like em Josh, I don't think there are very many of us that have them. I know that Todd scored one and that is it I think. If anyone else has these, put a post up and let us know.
Thanks
Brent

oh yeah, I was even demonstrating the Hydrophobic coating at work...My Dark Grey Monster Dogs and them were set side by side and I used my eyedrops to show how the water leaves a trail that "sticks" to the Dogs, and it just rolled off the Radar and barely left any signs of ever being there...SWEETNESS!!! Pix to be up in a few minutes.

And here is the first pic!!

Looks Great in his new home....you got to do the sharpie test, it is insane, I just done a softball team order for some flaks and one of the girls picked it up yesterday. I did the sharpie test on her new shades and she was totaly amazed! Her eyes were the size of golfballs right before I did it. It really leaves nothing on them at all. You gotta try it! Later on

I will...Just gun shy since thise is so hard to get ya know. Also, when you wipe them with the microbag, you can feel the difference in the lens surface. It's like a car that hasn't been waxed that is kind of smooth, but you feel the imperfections (regular lens) vs. a car that has had a full blown detail clay bar and all (super slick)...It is pretty cool stuff

I gotta say, I paid dearly for these (like most of mine!) but these are truly sick, this was the combo to get for 07 radars, it is truly sad these never made it to the street, these are truly sweet! :)

Chopper: pm me the details of the recall...

HAHA!!! Had to do it..Just got back from my local vault, found out they re-designed the interior of the case for the Radars on all models. Sounds like it would have been an easy fix for the Plus Reds...Glad I got one...

after reading this thread, there is still no official news from Oakley to why they stopped production for the Radar +Red Iridium Lenses? I bought a few pairs when they first launched and passed to my friends only to realise Oakley discontinued them! now I'm only left with a pair of Path and Range Metallic Red/Red Iridium each. Could have more if... =(

what Josh stated is correct, there was reaction with the iridium on the +red and the foam in the case, I just recieved a new black/g30 pitch and the foam is no longer in the case at all on the bottom. It is acurate.

yeah, I can post it later tonight, the bottom is just hollow with no inserts or place for extra nose piece just totally open.

Reaction to the foam? Is that supposed to mean that it just completely removed the hydrophobic coating on the lens?

The +Red radars I recieved lacked the hydrophobic coating (I tested with water and a sharpie). I alerted corporate to it, though they probably already knew. A day later they were recalled.

Sucks. :(

it was making the iridium to want to peel off the lens at the bottom edges. I sharpied mine and it was fine, that sucks that you got a really bad pair. They are sick!!

Use some hand sanitizer to remove the sharpie mark if you want.. just be wary that you could theoretically damage the iridium coating that way, though the ones I tested it on it didn't.
