So, as it stands, I have an iPhone 3GS 16GB. Jailbroken, unlocked, and I've been using it for a long while. I've had every iteration of the iPhone, and before that used HTC phones almost exclusively, aside from when I used some "fashion" dumbphones like the Nokia 8800/8801/8600 Luna and the Bang & Olufsen Serene.

I basically want to relegate my iPhone to iPod/GPS usage, and start using a dumbphone for phone calls again. I'm looking to get a high-end fashion phone again. Do any of you have any suggestions (no Vertu/Mobiado) as to anything that you think is kind of cool? I was thinking along the lines of a Motorola Aura, but they're sooo damn expensive. I loved my Nokia 8801 but the battery life lasted like 12 hours with hardly any usage for me. Nokia 8800 Siroccos are nice, but 99.9% of them on eBay are fake.

Any opinions on what you guys like/suggest? Or if you know where to get a cheap Aura, that'd work, too... :p

I would have been more than happy to help you if you had asked this question, like, 2 years ago.
Since I got my Android device, I've fallen out of the new handset market.
I'm in love. :)

how about hanging on for this?

it's even a portable hotspot and has an awesome 16gb on-board, impressive for a phone. 4G is going to be awesome since we're going to be waiting a while for WiMAX to really get the backing it needs, 4G is looking to be the future for wireless inter-operability...until the next standard comes along :-)

(I know you wanted a dumbphone, but really? how cool is this phone lol)

I agree the HTC EVO 4G is pretty badass. I'm not going to go to a CDMA carrier for it. Still prefer to have a dumbphone at this point in time though. :) I love my iPhone 3GS, but I'm just tired of using it as a phone.

I'll switch when the Iphone 4g comes out, none of the other phones really compare, in totality, IMO

Hopefully, Apple switches up the interface or tweaks it up, a little bit, to make it different than prior versions....until then, it's the 3gs for me.

I was an HTC guy before the Iphone and loved them...don't know of any of the current models....phonescoop is the best place for new model info...HTH

Same here. I was hardcore HTC. But once I started playing with the iPhone, I got sick of them really fast. The processor just cannot hold a candle to the iPhone. I found my phone constantly lagging, even if I did two or three reboots during my day. The iPhone 2G was even faster than my HTC device at the time, and the 2G sucked balls.

As far as smartphones/PDAs/mobile computing devices go, I have yet to find a device that I like more than the iPhone. I've tried many, many different brands, models and OSs. If I ever had to drop my iPhone, I think the only thing I'd go back to is a Windows Mobile HTC device. Their newest Windows 7 Mobile phones are looking to be pretty good. But time will tell, of course.
