Wow, thanks for the quick response.

Ebay was surprisingly helpful! Ifynanceu, thanks for the helpful hint. Might become useful in the future. :)

Take care~

Hi,

A buddy of mine needs a bit of help. He has had his prescription Oakley Mars for almost six years now, and just recently lost a part that holds one of the lenses in. He talked to Oakley, and they have no parts for the Mars, because they are long discontinued.

The part he need is about 1/8" across, and shaped like the letter "C." It fits around a small post by the lens, at the bottom of the frame.

Does anyone know where he can obtain another one?

Thanks

Hmm. I'd make sure to stop by where YOU work!

I remember when I was trying on different models and the sales assistant kept asking me after each pair I tried "You know, we can order that right now and have it come in a week. You want to buy it now?"

Of course, you also get one of those rare folks who actually attempts to help you. I remember a buddy of mine asking to try on a Mars glasses and they didn't have any in stock. So he purchased a Romeo instead. Two weeks later, the same guy called and told him that he has the Mars in stock and he would be willing to let him trade the Romeos for the Mars.

We need more of those men and women in the world.

Thanks to all who are!

Why do I want it more red? Am I happy?

No.

I want it more red because I first got into Oakleys from watching Black Hawk Down and saw Eric Banna's ruby Oakleys. THe moment I saw it, I said "I'm gonna get me a pair of them babies."

Sadly, Oakley discontinued it. I would also want it more red because it looks almost exactly like Fire, but a twinge redder. To a casual passerby, they'd most likely think of a "fire" or a similar color, not a "hey, that guy has red lens".

Honestly, if you can't get it right, don't even bother with it.

Just my $0.02

Flame on :D

Wow. Thanks for the pics.

Oakley makes pretty much every single color...except for red.

<blinks>

Still looks interesting, though.

M Frames?

In all seriousness, I tried searching, and got the same results as you did. Hmm...interesting.

j/w, is the hard vault worth the price?

Jake, it looks like Oakley charges $60 to change out your current lens to the Ruby ones.

I guess they also do all the other stuff they do when you send 'em in.
