Living in Leicestershire, England. Been collecting for a few years but not really got a big collection, I tend to only buy the ones I like and not for value although I do have a few collectables now.

I might try and see if I can get some pads from oakley, thanks. I'm really just thankful they're not fakes and finding out I have some original release OTT's has been a bonus

Thanks Dann for that, the video is brilliant. Really informative and at least I know now I have an original release. I did start worrying that I may have bought some fakes as I couldn't find any pictures or references to the OTT's without the padding. At least my mind is now at rest knowing this. They're not that comfortable without the pads, not sure if it's the shape of my head but they do hurt my brow so they're display only. Thanks again

Strangely, I've been googling again today and found someone selling some identical to mine on ebay. This is the first time I've seen a photo of the glasses without the pads.

I'm not selling mine, I'm just after some information. So, if there is anyone that give me more information and confirm the version then that would be great.

According to the description he says they're
"Oakley Over The Top rare 1st Gen OTT Fire Iridium FMJ Sunglasses

This is the 1st generation, without rubber pads which were included in the following updates in 2 different ways before being discontinued."

I've looked in the DB on this site and they don't seem to be listed. The ones on this site are FMJ+ which have the pad and the only other is the FMJ 5.56 which doesn't have photos.

thanks for all the responses and welcomes.

I bought a pair of Over The Tops about 12 years ago, they were been used as a display in a clothes shop and the shop was shutting so the came without box and bag. This was before the popularity took off as a collectors item so I wasn't too bothered.

I've had them sitting as a display on a shelf in my house ever since, as my collection started to expand I decided to have another look at them a little closer. I have noticed that all the OTT's on the websites have a foam section above the lenses which sits on the forehead. Mine don't and they don't have a section for the pads. I have tried googling, I've been into the main flag ship shop in London and asked but no one seems to have a clue why mine don't. Does anyone know if there were any releases without the foam?

thanks, I'm after some information about some Over The Tops I bought about 12 years ago. I went into the Oakley HQ in London and no one seemed to be able to answer my question but they pointed me to this site. Where would be the best forum to post or person to ask about the different models of the OTT's. I've looked in the DB but the information isn't there that I was after.
