Has anyone sent any julieys in for tuneup recently, I want to send mine in but fear because it has a serial number on the arm I wont get it back. Thought a couple mbrs said that had happened, can you still get any lens color also?

I think it was 3 months ago, I sent in a Juliet with serial and I made sure the CSR noted it on the notes when I called in to schedule. I also included a letter that noted the serial number. I got the glasses back with the letter, so I didnt' have any issues.

I have gotten a tune up. I got back the same pair I sent in, no big deal. If it is your every day wear (EDW) you are sending in, I wouldn't worry. If it was something off the self that you don't wear much and is rare, then personally I would not send them in. Thats just me though, just say'n *Rick's voice.

Another favored approach is to send the pair in without the left earstem. Don't give them the chance/satisfaction of sending you back a non-serialized pair!!

If the pair sent in is completely worn out, they may simply choose to toss it out and replace it with a brand new pair. Much less hassle and less resources required to provide the service. They may also see it as doing you a favor, since only a handful of people in the world have an appreciation of Oakley as a collectible. This has indeed happened to a few members.

But as David did, if you put a note in stressing your stance on keeping the serialed pair, they will oblige.

Yeah, make sure you add the note inside. I sent a pair in for a tune up and let them know over the phone they were serialized but to no avail - they replaced them with a fresh pair. Called to discuss it but no luck, I was SOL.

What does it cost in the US to get a tune up?

Wonder how they would approach a frame which is no longer in circulation like a Ti02?

Last I checked it was like $70 or so dollars.

You really do have to stress in the phone call that you know of people losing their serialized pairs, etc. Get the CSR's name etc. and put the note in.

As for no longer available colors, I wouldn't thing that matters. The new rivets are all going to be the same color. No choice there.

Be careful....I lost my Romeo 1 #1255 this way. Told that story countless times.

Wow. Losing a Romeo 1, that oughta hurt.
I won't be surprised if some who work in the repairs dept are the sellers/scalpers on eBay.
Was thinking of sending in a pair of X-Metal XX and Penny.
Maybe I'll have to think thrice.
But hardly any alternatives, apart from sending in minus the serialed arm.

I brought this up when my situation went down and the CS rep I was speaking to got very offended that I would think that.

Yeah. I've had that, but i've told them "it happened to me" so they can take their "offendedness" and shove it.

Once they've heard it's personal experience, most of them back off.
