I just went to O.com after seeing that the whisker was finally up and it struck me that the Unknown and the hatchet look rather similar (although that is just based on the notoriously unreliable O.com images) do they look similar in the flesh?

Just idle curiosity!

You got the names right? Hatchet and Unknown? I don't see it.

names are right. O.com shows them at different angles. Just thought there were a few similarities with the hatchet looking like a boxier hatchet made out of plastic. Sort of like the difference between the juliet and penny (But then with the penny being made out of o-matter.

Maybe I am just seeing things

Yes, I also noticed that. It's mainly the orbital/lens shape. Look at them straight-on... the shapes are very similar.

I noticed Switch's and Splice's were similar too.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I first saw it when I had the 2002 ads side by side and noticed that they have similar curves. And I find Dartboard and Romeo 2 also have similar style(look at the New Releases page on O.com) and maybe it's just me, but I can see similarities in Penny and Minute.

Sorry - still don't see it, but that's just me. Maybe I need Oakley Rx.

I do notice that the nosebridges are quite consistent:
Juliets, XX, R2, and most Jackets have the same bridge sculpt.
Scar and Half Jacket share the same bridge, in fact I think Scar was the first to vary the bridge sculpt to a significant degree (Five was like a modified EJ sculpt)
There are quite similar flares on the lower orbitals on Monster Dog, Splice, Valve, XX, and EJ 3.0.
A new trend is this flare on the arms. It used to be very linear earstems but starting with Scar and Plate and now in Monster Dog, Doggle, Hatchet, Unknown, Zero, Dartboard...just about everything new.
