Does anyone know about the history between Oakley and Gentex, specifically what Gentex provided to Oakley in terms of coatings? I am wondering if Gentex provided any non-Iridium coatings?

Gentex (owned by Essilor) is a company you don't hear too much about in collectors circles, but they are instrumental to Oakley as we know them today. They were Oakley's official sole third party supplier of polycarbonate lens blanks from 1997 to early 2010. In 2003 or 2004, Oakley started increasing its in-house lens blank manufacturing capabilities to mitigate against any disruption in the supply chain, but Gentex still provided much of the lens blanks until the end of the arrangement.

I have no insight into what happened after 2010, but I assume manufacturing continued both in-house and at Luxottica factories. I don't also remember who the supplier was before 1997, so please let me know if you know.
