AAAAHHHHHH, I missed that...Then well done man, well done. Now to get inside that little tiny brain of that baby and tweak some parameters, punch up the boost on the super a few pounds, and let her rip!!

I didn't realize they came super'd from the factory. Man have I been slipping. Have you done anything else to enhance the performance??? Intake system for even more growl? I bet the Borlas sound real nice.

Thing is, the dealers here are now taking photos of your calibration (tech2) in the PCM before they will do any warranty work on your powertrain and driveline. If you've messed with it, you are pretty much SOL if it comes to any major work. Guys that have tuned the STS-V complain of too much wheel spin, but it is supposed to shift a lot better. This thing has more than enough power for me stock. I am going to powdercoat the stock rims at some point, but after that, I think I am done with the modifications.

The Borla has a nasty note so I'm getting a lot of enjoyment out of that.

What color are you going to do the rims? I see...Didn't know dealers were up to that these days...bastards...Always taking away the fun. A little K&N and she should bark like a HUGE dog...I bet that is a ton of fun to spank all those noisy rice wagons with...I just got me another Kraut Kart, so it is back to playing with the German goods...Trying to find another VR6 powerplant to play with until this one gives out. Amazingly they get killer mileage like the GM Vettes if you keep your damn foot out of it...That is the hardest part of all

I think this would have been a more suitable "eco-friendly" car for you to buy Rick. Part AUDI part smart car. It's called a SMAUDI!!!

Here's my baby. It's torn apart right now with a lot of work done to it, but with a lot left to be done as well.

Here's how it sits now...motor waiting to be disassembled on the stand and the gearbox waiting for a cleaning.

NICE!!! V-Dub baby...I gotta ask one question though...Excuse me if it comes across the wrong way, but what they hell is up with East Coast dubbers and those overly wide, tires don't fit, little wheels? It's not meant to be rude, but I have always noticed that on Vortex and it has always driven me nuts. I see the Krauts doing it back in Germany on some too! Don't get me wrong, to each his/her own, but I would think the lips would get chewed all to hell.

Whatcha got done to the AAA?

nice car...An old co-worker of mine had one and it was pretty nice. He went from a late 90's e430 (I think that is what it was, it was the 8cyl) to the newer E320 6cyl...The older one was much bigger inside but felt like a boat. The newer was more solid and responsive feeling.

Camaro is sick. There is a red one running around town here. Very cool car for sure. If you get the neutered one you may as well drive a freakin Yaris though. I don't know why the USA companies offer the girlie versions with little baby engines. All must have a V8 at minimum. They don't all have to be 450hp+, but no girlie V6 allowed!

ifynanceu:
the stretched tires thing is simply for the look...it's not functional at the extent I have mine stretched to. ;) If you look at a lot of the newer sports cars, like the M3, M5, lots of the AMG Benzs, they all have a slight stretch. It's for road feel to some degree on those cars. With mine, I had a set of custom wheels made and was going for the stretched look. If you saw the car rolling down the street when I still had those wheels, you'd immediately think, 'pitbull'. It's a little black car, with pudgy wheels. :) The stretch allows me to run wider wheels while still going stupid low. It's a look that I don't think will ever completely pass. My new wheels are 17x8, so I'll be tucking all of the tire, not just the tread. :)
Unfortunately, the pic with it all still together was taken approx 5 years ago this summer. It's been through various stages of disassembly since then. The motor has never been cracked open, so when I get finished with the interior and wiring for the motor, I'll be doing a 3.0 bore and freshening everything else up. I'm planning on boosting it in the next year or so, so I need some new stronger parts in there!

Nice man. I have a mkIII GLX Jetta and love it. Wanting to sell it to get something to keep me out of trouble, but if I don't get what I want, I will keep her and do some forced induction on my AAA. It has 177k now, but runs like a champ. Need to yank the damn SAI off though. Dubs for life...Water cooled anyway HAHA. Mine is also black on black on black. You on Vortex?
