Just ranting from a bad ebay purchase that i made less than a month ago.

I bought a "Brand New Sandisk Ultra II 2GB SD" for about $130usd shipped. The seller appeared to sell nothing but memory cards, and sells thousands a month.. 99%+ feedback rating so i figured i couldn't go wrong.

Well when I received the card, first there was no retail packaging (this was described).. fine. But looking at the contacts there appeared to be some wear on there. Thus raising my suspicions I ran out and bought a retail versoin of the memory card and did some in depth comparisons..it was a fake :( my findings are here: http://members.shaw.ca/fakesandisk/

The seller did offer a refund.. But to the typical consumer its so easily to get screwed. Buyers beware~~

Wow, just wow. I'd like to think I wouldn't have been fooled... especially by the device ID. But in reality who knows? Thanks for the head's up.

Nice info there... I guess that is why you still get some people unwilling to purchase things from ebay of fear of it being fake.

Other things include: warranty, refunds, etc...

Luckily this guy gave refund.

Just so people don't get ripped off, almost all of the Sony 2GB memory stick duo's on eBay are fake as well. Easy way to tell is that the print on the back supposed to be engraved, not printed on.
