Very nice guys, I'm not normally a massive fan of the fire/ruby lens but those look good. Hopefully I'll be near an NHRA race when I'm over in the states later this year and I'll get to have a good spend up at the rolling o!!

I really like the fives (even if a matte black frame would look better ... or imagine a matte white frame o_O) but I don't like the R2's. I don't like the R2's at all, but with the fire lens they look even worse (more worse? worser? I don't know lol)... for me!

Speaking of Gary Scelzi, he made a great appearance on the Bubba The Love Sponge show on Sirius Satellite Radio today. He got drunk and talked Oakley a little bit, amongst MANY other things.

Anyone notice during the USA-Mexico game of the World Baseball Classic the USA right fielder was wearing Carbon/Fire R2s? Not sure if they were sigs or not...I guess they would be.

They may not necessarily be sigs. Oakley throws around custom colourways all over the place for their athletes. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if those Fire R2s were one of those. Hell, I'm surprised there's no Baseball player with a +Red R2 yet.

didn't someone from overseas ask a member here for a favour to get those for him for his personal collection and soon enough it was seen on ebaY as some ridiculous price?

Sure was, there still on there matter of fact. Doesn't bother me one bit someone decide to sell these to me instead of that person who whined about, which harkens back to the thread about the scalpers. a good username would be Judas or Nero.

Slow down guys... All the talk about process and the right thing to do will get the thread deleted. In reality we are here out of an obsession for Oakley, not like, but obsession. If we are willing to take that love and replace it with greed for money, then we are destroying the whole idea. There could people that scalp items to get money to buy more Oakley...I doubt it, but it could happen. I treasure most ever piece that I own, but I am not short of selling it to get a more treasured piece. Most of will do the same, just not for profit.

Speaking of which... I actually want a pair for myself! Oakley Fives 3.0 Gary Scelzi with Ruby lens (^-^). But NO WAY I'm gonna spend over US$200 for just an Oakley Fives 3.0!

I did contact Oakley to get this & they did reply asking for my credit card details. However that worries me because I doubt its safe/secure to pass my credit card over the internet just via email?? And unfortunately they dont accept payment via Paypal (O_o)a

Any alternative way(s) of how to do this safely or can someone strike me a deal (at the retail price with p&p) & post to UK?

Well we know he got them for $90 and all, it's a buy it now for 250% of that, so look at it and think again.

Eric, do me a favor, start a thread in the off topic for YOUR personal crusade and stop crapping in every thread on that subject.

well it's out of topic, so i agree with Eric up there. why not make an off-topic thread somehthing like 'oakley scalpers' or something and discuss it there?

the topic here says it's to discuss Scelzi's oakley. :D

I don't really mind either way, but it just seems that every thread you post in has scalper this and scalper that in them. Why, people who groaned over the Ruby talk finally had their respite in a contained Ruby Thread.

I don't mind the odd tangent or two, but not all the time.

alright, i think we should all step back and chill a bit... lately the forum's been a hotbead of confrontations.

don't anyone take this the wrong way but i'm going to lock this thread before anything ugly happens.
