Could there be a way added to select multiple messages to be stored or deleted? It would be much faster and easier this way...

Hmm... like Inbox and Folders... might as well ask when do all messages in my inbox gets deleted?? Do they get deleted after sometime automatically?? (Nope, please dont delete my inbox msgs).

And can we delete the sent messages on our own?

I am thinking like check boxes or radio buttons where you can click multiple messages to be stored or deleted and the same for the sent messages...

The sent messages disappear when the person you sent them to archives or deletes them.

As for multiple archiving/deleting, I just click on one, then before the page reloads, I click on another and so on. Works for me.

That's exactly right Iggy. I think 35 messages is my record before the screen refreshed. You DO NOT have to delete them one-by-one.

I do to, but it is a pain since my isp is pretty quick..I have cable and a pretty well built system, so it refreshes pretty damn fast...I may squeeze out 2 or 3 before it refreshes...

Good ideas, I just don't have as much time to implement them. I'll certainly try, but the clicking-quickly method it what I use.

There is a saved box that you can archive messges to. This will keep them safe. Outgoing messages last a month on your screen. Incoming last however long I go without doing a cleanup. I try to remove anything older than 2 months or so to save space on the database.

Cool, thanks Dan. That's good to know so I can procrastinate as long as possible before I archive.

Dear Wizard,
Would it be possible to have a little icon indicating whether or not a PM has been responded to? It's hard for us old dudes to remember who we have and haven't responded to. Not a huge deal though.

Ok, I went a step further. Each message keeps track of the one it responds to and the one it was responded from. The previous and next messages show up in the view page as well, to give you a reference, since I sometimes for get what I wrote or what the message is even talking about. This also gives and indication on the main message page that a response has been given, so I noted that in italics.

I love this. Previously, if someone deleted the message from their inbox, I'd never know what I last said.

Well that would still be true, it keeps track of the message ID, not a carbon copy of the actual message.

I tried doing more than a few at a time and it seems to work better from the oldest to the newest but not the other way around??
I may have a hundred p.m.s to flush :O
...it will take some time too.
