X-metal was the first one to come out in 2004, which was then replaced with Carbon in 2005.

Do present day Carbon Ducati Juliets still have a serial or Ducati on the earstem?

no, none of the new Juliets except the WBC Ichiro have serial numbers. I am pretty sure of this, but talk to Dr.J to be 100% sure, or glitter pants as he is sometimes referred to.

Any Juliets produced now has no serial numbers. I think the last one was the WBC Ichiro in 2006.

Edit- you beat me to the answer Josh!

Thank you gentlemen,

it was indeed the Ichiro that made me believe special editions still had serial numbers.

Last time I was there, my Vault had an original X-Metal Ducati Juliet next to the Carbon Juliets. I can't remember the price, but it was well beyond my boundaries.

and here they are for sale

a friend of mine has both the x metal and carbon variants with serial numbers. He got lucky and stumbled on to the x metal...Funny thing, he can't wear any of his collection except the 4 RX pairs he has HAHA

Truthfully, I don't know nearly as much about the X-Metals as some of you give me credit for. Sure, I own a few, but I'm more knowledgeable when it comes to "getting" them than I am when it comes the nitty gritty.

Okay, now I'm confused again: so the Carbon one did at one point have a serial? Presumable those produced before 2004?But when did the Ducati version change from X metal to Carbon?
The serials list on the OR lists only the X metal version (DUCATI######).

When the first Carbon ducati frames came out they did have a serial, it was just a frame color change. At some point after that all main stream juliets stopping having the serial numbers on the frames so there were no more serials on the ducati's either.
I have a carbon & and x-metal with a ducatiXXXX serial, to me it really makes them more desirable as a ducati piece because unlike other styles which have red icons and usually some inner frame insignia the only thing that made the juliet a ducati was the rubber and the lens one the serial was removed (meaning any carbon frame could be modded to be an exact ducati replica).

The X-metal Ducati was only in 2003. After a year, they switched to Carbon and continue.

If you have a chance of acquiring one of these serial numbered versions, dont hesitate, that is, if you are into x metals. The serial numbers make these pairs distinct.
