I agree, the rule doesn't really apply to the wanted section but it should be very clear if you are selling something what you want for it.

we need to work at getting the classified mess cleaned up quick!!! I see numerous postings with this BS make offer or negotiable figure in the for sale items. If we wanted to negotiate, we would bid snipe on ebay and try our best to get as close to our target as possible. Give a price, if it is too much, you will figure it out fast...

Here here. Pics too, rules say a pic must be posted unless you have stated in your ad that you don't have a digital camera. If you don't have a digital camera, you need one to photo-document your collection anyway, so go get one!

Concur, I had already spoke to Dann about this topic and glad to see others are on board, Dann maybe put rule #2 in BOLD letters so it sticks out...or red letters so it really stands out, just a thought...Thx!

Well all the rules should be followed anyway. They're all important. I'd say just more consistency in moderating the Classifieds.

We know you cant be all places all the time Dann, maybe one of the other mods could just watch that area?

I am sure you could always recruit...?

Thanks as always, I see you swept up already over there...;)

Dann I luv the way you added (I assume) the toggle on/off for the pictures, way kewl. I also noticed that you can turn on/off the note the same way except the word ON never changes even when the notes are off, keep in mind I run firefox and maybe thats the cause? Dunno...thx.

That activates when you have over 10 reviews. Was for bandwidth reasons way back, and yes, I need to fix the label. Never got around to it.

I noticed a couple of times, people relisting their items in the classifieds within 2 weeks or so just to be on top again, please wait more before you do that.

Theres no rule for that, but waiting a month seems fair I think.

Thank you.

Just wanted memebers to pay attention to the message I posted 2 posts up, theres no point in asking the same items every week, to be on the top of the page...

Please refrain from doing that, posts like that will be deleted, wait at least 3 weeks to repost a wanted/selling item.

Official answer is I'm still working on it. It's a touchy content area that I'd rather not deal with, but many seem to want it, but still ends up giving me headaches. When it's gone people ask where it is, and when it's here, I have to hear about how certain people abuse it, and so on.

No slight against anyone, I just need to figure ou the best way to implement it and I will get back to you all. In the mean time, just hang tight and buy from stores and stuff.

Going to try this again. With all the issues regarding appropriate listings, too many listings, rediculous listing, endless post bumping, I'm going to try a new approach.

Your account has credits tied to it now. I set everyone up with a freebie to start things off. You can use the credits to list something. Extra credits can be purchased for 1USD via paypal. Right now it's manual (you send, and I get a PM, then I check and update your account), but I hope to automate it more. Don't want to invest the time if this seems to not work though.

So basically if you want to bump a post, feel free, it'll cost a buck. If you want to list a pair for retail or for a price no one will ever pay, it'll cost a buck. This pretty much leaves the moderating out, since if you feel you want to use the credit, there won't be any objection. It's low enough (compared to ebay), and after PP fees, it's not like any of it really makes a difference. All fees will go to hosting costs, which up to now have been taken care of out-of-pocket.

Hopefully this will be a good solution, since many want the system, but I don't like dealing with the drama and whatnot that comes with it.

Let me know what you think. There's also a feedback system and and a reservation system, so you can call dibs. Here's how it goes.

Seller lists item.
Buyer likes item, so he reserves it, and is redirected directly to the PM screen.
Item is changed to 'Pending'
Seller receives PM and either decides to sell or not sell.
If he/she sells, he/she marks the item as sold. If not sold, the flag is reset as available.
Once the item is set as Sold, both sides can then mark it as a favorable or unfavorable transaction, which will then show on the auction listing.
