Thanks, Iwan. The Why 4 is cool (and it's X-Metal), I like the look, but I'm afraid they are not durable enough. I had only full framed glasses so far. Anybody has experienced problems with rimless frames?

I've had rimless frames for ever. Never had any problems with them: you've seen the impact test commercials on Oakley.com. Polycarbonate (plutonite) lenses don't chip or break that easily, just don't fit real glass and you'll be fine.

Unfortunatly the Oakley prescription lenses are very hard to get, because they are made in Great Britain. And it takes weeks to prepare and houndreds of Euros.
So probably I'll take (which is a shame) non-Oakley lenses. =(

Friday night I broke my O3's right lens (which was a non-Oakley plastic one). My optician told me that the poly-carbon lenses are only a slightly tougher then my original ones.
I might change to Oakley's plutonite lenses or I'll buy a full rim glass. The bad thing is, that I couldn't find any nice frame which would fit. I prefer Ti.
Did any of you had any problems the rimless frames with RX lenses? How tough are they? Those are very expensive over here (over $400 a pair).

Polycarbon lenses are virtually unbreakable and much better suited to be fittet than plastic (CR39) lenses. So Oakley's Plutonite lenses are an option. Have Oakley mount them, however!
An alternative is to ask your optician for Hoya's Eyas lenses or Essilors Eyeware. Both are a polycarbon-like material but a bit more suitable for rimless frames.

I have Hoya 1.67 plastic lenses (especially made for rimless frames, my optician said) and the new one will be also the same type. I'm pretty sure that the broken lens wasn't made very well, it had to stand this stress. I hope my new lens will be better.

I'd like to ask you a favor, guys: I'm looking for pictures of the Chop Top 2.0 and 4.0, they should be on somebody's head, I'm curious how they look like when worn.

This is a nice site which allows you to view all Rx models while worn.

Thank you, the site is really nice. I was lucky to find a Chop Top 2.0 which I could try on, but the only colorway was the Ti brown. Ti silver or pewter would be the color I'm looking for, but there are very jard to find (even on ebay).

Hi just want to tell you my RX story.
I originally brought Square wire 3.0 RX with grey transition lenses with AR coating. I had reflection and glare problems with these lenses. I would get ghosting when looking at my pc and glare when standing under artificial light.eg. fluorescent light. Therefore they were sent back. Oakley told me to go for the Whiskers as they had a lower base curve, but they do not suit me at all, so they let me go for the Nanowire 1.0, but Oakley could not guarantee I would not have reflection and glare problems. This was all done via my optician, who thought there shouldnt be a problem with the nanowires as she had never heard of the problems i was getting before. So after a few weeks I received my nanowires. First thing I noticed was the lenses are really thick, about 3mm. I still get the glare issues under artificial light, but not so much ghosting.
Another problem is that I cant see as well compared to my bottle rocket 4.0 which have the same prescription !?!?!?
BTW my RX is -0.75 SPH in both eyes.
Anyone else had these problems before ??
Sorry for the long message.
Thanks
Iwan

I have a Juliet with Emerald Iridium transitions that has the same ghosting problem in artificial light. The Gold Iridium transition lens I have still has the problem but slightly less. Other members have reported the same. I think it is a problem specific to the transitions lenses. Haven't noticed any correction problems though. If you don't see as clear with them as with your other lenses I would definitely return them. No way should you accept suboptimal vision !!
The thickness is normal though, send you a PM in reply to your question.

Quick question for you UK guys. I want to get my o-matter XX frames fitted with black iridium prescription lenses. I called oakley who said no problem but I have to go through a dealer. My local OPD wants £186 just for the lenses. I know the whole spiel about paying for quality but does anyone know anywhere cheaper?

thanks

O.T.T. You can try www.steptoes.co.uk or www.isyte.com Just give them a ring.
Should be slightly cheaper then what you were quoted.
I'm new to this site so I dont know if im allowed to advertise other companies on here.
Apologies if that is so.

Michael, thanks very much for that. I never even thought about steptoes. Totally forgot that they had started doing RX. The dude at steptoes (his name is Riff) is really cool. I will give them a ring tomorrow.

Cheers dude!

I'm working on computer all week long and will go soon to the eye specialist because my eyes are really tired a the end of a working day.
I'm going to ask him to prescribe me some "comfort" glasses to get my eyes less tired.
I hope that I won't need additional correction though.

How good is the Juliet for small correction RX lens ?

Guess you're question has been answered - by trail and error? - but if not: shouldn't be much of a problem.

I picked up a pair of RAZRwires over the weekend at a fundraiser/auction. I had to spend some money, and I thought the fit was excellent.

Anyway... I bought them with the intention of having some kind of transition type Rx lenses put in them for use indoor and outdoor. According to some old info on Oakley's website, this model was originally offered with Rx options. So my question is will I have any issues getting Rx lenses put in this frame? How much might it cost ballpark?

Hi!

I ordered a RX Juliet today and I am a bit concerned about the lens details. I read on oakley.com, that the total power up to -3.00 is available for this frame. The details of my eyes are the following:
right: sph -2.75 cyl 0.50 ax 85 pd 30
left: sph -2.25 cyl 0.25 ax 50 pd 29
The guy at the O store, who ordered the glasses for me, told it will be fine, but I'd to ask for your confirmation on this. I would be very disappointed if my order would be rejected. It's pretty important for me.

Thank you all in advance.

There is another question for you guys. Are the Why3 and Why4 lenses compatible? I never had a Why3 in my hands, but I'm afraid they're not.

Hi all. Just picked up some why 3 frames with the display/plano lenses in them.
If i order 'lenses to fit' from an Oakley retailer will they come with the correct holes drilled in them to attach the arms and nose piece?
Sorry for dumb question but im looking to order from a store in the states and have someone pick them up for me.
Also anyone know the range of lens options (colours) for this frame?

Cheers
