It irks me that my first pair of serialized Juliets don't fit me as well as my nonserialized second pair. Its probably because I stretched the flex coupler by always using the size 25 templeshox instead of the size 15, which I should have been wearing. My newer ones fit rather snug with only the size 15, while the ones that need a tune up fit very loosely. My older pair is on the borderline to becoming completely floppy.

That all said, I've read about some members' experiences with sending in Juliets for a tune-up (which one would think includes disassembly for bushing replacement), some actually paying for it, and receiving back essentially an untouched frame which still flops or sits crooked just as it did before. I know their turnaround time can be 1-2 months as well, which is also annoying.

I'm willing disassemble my frame at the flex coupler to replace the rubber bushings with some new custom cut rubber. Has anyone ever done this and be able to reassemble the frame?? I'm assuming that those two pins are just rivits that can be carefully tacked from the back to the front with the properly sized pin-punch, ballpeen hammer, and bench block. What are your thoughts?

From what I have gathered as of late, you will get a new frame all together, so if you send a serialed pair, you more than likely won't get that same pair back but a tight new one. Good Luck if you try it yourself though!

Not an area of expertise for me, but it seems to beg the question: If you do it yourself and aren't happy with the results - you are still in the same position to send them in to HQ for a tune up, right?

I believe you're correct, Oogie! So I guess it wouldn't hurt to give it the old college try. What could possibly go wrong?

I would call the warranty dept and schedule a tune up. Just let them know that you'll remove the left arm with the serial on it before sending them in and you'll have no worries. :-D.

I thought about that too. Has anyone ever pulled the left stem with a serial prior to sending it in? Its a plasma frame though with that natural-worn tone to it.

the bad thing about that idea is the coloring batches. Look at an early plasma to a plasma of today. They are totally different and the same thing goes with xmetal too. Just call warranty and check with them first and let them know you want to keep your same frame.

you can send in the pair for a tune up. last I heard it was like $50 and they replace all the washers, flex couplers, and anything else needed except lenses (unless you pay for them)...Just make sure they know that frame is coming with the s/n on it...

Yeah, you should just be able to send that in. Last time I checked, I believe they would do a t/u @ no charge w/ the purchase of lenses. Josh is right though, you should let them know you want to keep the same frame.

Hey Fellas! I was able to obtain an older serialized plasma Juliet, but the frames are a bit oxidized. Any of you guys have any suggestions on how I can polish it up so I can at least get some of the plasma color back. The frames are 10 yrs old so I don't expect it to be 100%. I appreciate any thoughts.

if it is an original that is textured, there isn't much you can do. Go across the border to WA and see if there is one of those 99 cents only stores and get some of the "LA's Awesome" cleaner. I would use an ultrasonic cleaner with that stuff at a 50% dilution ratio with hot water and let it run a while. Should clean out all the gunk built up in the texture and pull a nice color back out. I have used it on several frames and it works great
