ok, so since the arms of the tron gascan are the only part that has the script, why not swap the arms onto a polished black front with ice lenses....viola problem solved!
true true. unfortunately, this would be my ONLY pair of gascans, and I'd much rather carry the gascans and lenses to the theatre than gascans and and extra frame.... ;)

They will fit, but there are optical alignment issues. Due to the HDO-3D GC lens having no rake (up and down curve) and the regular GC lens having the rake the lens alignment to your eyes will be off when putting a regular GC lens in the HDO-3D GC frame. So you to lose the benefit of HDO and get the eyestrain of any other sunglass brand.

That is why Oakley says the lenses are not compatible between the two.

Also I have noticed from people trying to take the lenses out that you can damage the HDO-3D lens if you are not very careful when reinserting it.

That seems pretty odd / interesting. I think we are used to just worrying about scratching the lenses during lens swaps. Just out of curiosity - what is the risk or how can the HDO-3D lens get damaged? Does the lens actually snap, or is it something with the 3D tech that can get screwy with pushing the lens around?

I saw someone peal the edge up. They dont feel as thick as your typical Oakley Lens.
