Long time Oakley fan. The Mumbos were what started this fanaticism. I've lost or FUBAR-ed three different sets of M Frames back in the day so the fact that I've kept my current collection as long as I have is a relief.

i've been reading espn's page 2 uni-watch for years and i've been wondering whey they'd get around to sunglasses. it's a fun read.

the zero l. those lenses are so huge that there's virtually no light creeping in through the edges.

the new zero 0.7s, however let in too much light in the sides.

however, i find that the size of the lenses don't always offer a commensurate level of coverage. my e-wire 2.1s offer great coverage since they sit pretty close to my face despite me having a big head, whereas the larger wardens and hatchets let in some light from the sides.

i saw a guy at a local cafe wearing 1st gen ruby pennys. at least they seemed 1st gen since they were redish-purple. i know for sure they were rubies since they were perched on his bald head and i could see through them while he was standing in line ahead of me.

i also a guy with a mohawk wearing overthetops. the only time i ever saw someone wearing those outside an oakley store.

i agree with warwagon. that "O" is one of those iconic (pun not intended) logos that even people living in caves will recognize.

however, i'm not surprised that oakley is going in a completely different direction with this line. i wouldn't be surprised if they abandon the old logo altogether since they have a history of redesigning or even phasing out popular models (zeros, romeos, scars, possibly the juliet).

thing about being a waiter, you load up on redbulls (or monsters, rockstar, etc) before a shift and immediately afterwards, you go out to a bar afterwards and down a beer or three so you get the best of both worlds.

i'm not as thunk as you drink i am.

24k Plates - these draw quizzical stares anytime i wear them out, including from people who wear gigantic dsigner frames that make oil drums look small.

mignight blue/fire scars - flashy color combo

m-frames with hi-intensity blue lenses - no one here seems to own low-light lenses so when they see me wearing these during a miami downpour, they seem confused.

i have an old oakley white mock turtleneck that has a small but distint icon on the neck. it might show up even more on the black one. see if you can track one of those down.

up until lately, it's been my ruby e-wire 2.1s. and they have the scratches - on the lenses - to show for it. i'm wearing my midnight/fire scars more now.
