Amazing bag for urban use. Loaded with features you will all use for your everyday gear and gadgets. Fantastic for commuting. The sling makes for moving through crowds in the mall and the train easier than with a backpack. What impresses me most about this bag is that you could access all compartments while slinged on your back. Stow documents and magazines on the move in the back compartment and pull out your Starbucks mug at the same time from the bottle holder while answering a call from your mobile. That kind of convenience is just not possible for a regular pack. Even the zippers could be closed with one hand. Although it could use lockble zipper pulls for peace of mind against pick pockets on those rush hour commutes. It really looks cool for a messenger bag. Oakley's industrial design people could really take something otherwise mediocre to another level.

Women have their handbag. I've got my Sandbag.

My workmates bought me this bag (along with an x-metal vault for my Juliet's) for my 21st present. I was blown away by the price ($198 Australian!!!) but also by the amount of features they managed to fit on what is essentially a backpack.

It has so many buckles and straps I don't know what half this shit does. I swear to god Oakley have put some stuff on here for practical use and other stuff just to look cool. What are those two plastic buckles for on the side of the bag? The shotgun cartridge holders? Talk about thinking outside the square.

This bag is the most awesome backpack I have ever seen. It has pockets and features that make my life a whole lot easier. I use this bag for anything, from going to uni, work, the beach or riding my bike. It has a spot for my iPod, my pen, my beach towel (the straps on the bottom. Just roll up your towel and strap it in), my water bottle and my loose change.

I love this bag because it crossed practicality with cutting edge, kick ass design.

Oakley hits a home run.

I love Oakley products. In fact, I own stock. So it's no surprise that I looked to see what Big "O had to offer by way of an everyday work or fun bag. I often need to bring documents, small packages, electronics, to and from work. The Sandbag is the perfect size. It has more compartments than you can throw a stick at. I used to have a Creative Zen mp3 player. This was before everyone tried to get their players iPod size. There is an internal pocket that holds the player perfectly. It's nice and padded. There are two holes in the bag for you to pass cables through. So you can be walking and listening to music, without all the cables getting tangled up.

There are mesh pockets, zippers, Velcro, pen slot, etc. I use every compartment for some sort of little knick knack. I have contact solution, lip balm, batteries, pen, my cell phone, etc.

On the shoulder strap there are shotgun shell loops. If that is not bad ass, I am not sure what is.

Not to follow trends, but this single strap bag is excellent. I treat mine as a brief case (or purse) and use it on a daily basis. It's compartments are great and are hidden all over the bag. In the straps, inside, and the back. It has an MP3 Player pocket inside that works wonders (slightly too large for the iPod) and is perfect for larger players. Comfortable and easy to get on and off. I have had no problems with the buckles, straps or zipper pulls. The only one little problem I had is with the rubber handle. It has started to fray were it is stitched to the bag. I caught the first side a year into ownership and dabbed some superglue on the frays and the same for the other side just this past spring. It made a great fix. This bag is excellent for every day use, day trips, the beach, biking and the like. I wouldn't recommend it for school books though and it can't hold a laptop. Maybe the 12" iBook.

I've been using this sling a solid seven years, and it's still holding up nicely.

I'm considering using the inner padded pocket that seems to be usually used for an mp3 holder, as water-bladder holder. The hole in the side of the bag that would seem to be for earphones could easily be used as hose port. Furthermore, the 'shotgun shell' holders will be used as a mouthpiece holder (various heights setting available). My only concern is that the height of the bag will require a smaller than usual water-bladder. Has anyone utilized their Sandbag this way?

One of the best backpacks I have ever owned. Get compliments on it all the time and it was out there way before shoulder/sling packs became En Vogue. Suited for almost all my endeavors be it a hike in Yosemite or grabbing a six-pack at the beer store. I liked it in particular when on my motorcycle since I could access it while driving. Had I the time back I'd have bought a second one for when and if my first wears out, although I don't know if will ever wear out the first one, lol.

Greetings, my first review. I don't see a listing for a Sandbag 2.0 so I figure I'll put it here. I originally purchased the Sandbag 2.0 because of the flexibility in carrying. The single strap unzips and can be repositioned to become shoulder straps. Further, you can adjust the straps' anchor points to configure it as a left shoulder bag , right shoulder bag, or backpack.

There are a ton of pockets and I fit my 15" Gateway Tablet PC with room to spare. I crammed this bag with the laptop, external harddrive, web cam, cables, headphones, external mouse, files, folders, and Ipod and there was still room.

Utility and style wise I would rate 5 out of 5.

My two complaints would be the lower strap mounting system. Each strap has a clip that slides on to a channel on the bag. These tend to slip off the channel. My laptop has come crashing down more than once. However, due to the excellent padding, It has not been damaged. #2. Even though the brochure shows that the bag comes with a traditional shoulder strap and advertising for the bag trumpest "carry this four way", a traditional should strap is NOT included and you cannot buy one from Oakley. I've had these bags (one black, one tiger camo) since the end of Jan and I've been fighting it out with Oakley on this ever since.

All in all a great bag. It retails around $110.00. Overall, I would give it 4/5.

Definately a nice bag. Excellent price point. Great for a quick trip to the gym. It won't hold too many books, but it's great if you only have a book or two to carry and don't want to lug around your giant Kitchen Sink for such a small payload.

Sweet bag. It's comfortable and holds books well. Plenty of pockets for a smaller bag. The cell phone case with it definately adds to the value.

This has been a great bag for the last 3 years in college. Small loads only (1 bigger textbook + Notebook) Lots of comments if only by idiots but I dig it's appearance. Good condition except for the netting has started to fray anywhere it was used on the bag. The bag seems to still be very functional (I'm curious when the zipper is going to go on the main compartment). I still alternate this out along with my Icon and AP Pack as my load dictates. As long as it's only used for smaller loads I'd give this bag a 5/5.

Gotta love it
hidden pocket on inside of back works great for quick magazine compartment, and i do have to discharges shotgun shells in the first two holes...a 10g and 12g. if you accompany it with one of those cd or mpw pleyers that has a pen control it works great so you dont have to mess around with going inside to change the song. the only thing i can say is that the inside cd player pocket is placed to that if you have books of something hard inside the cd player might be getting pushed in half... but if you have this bag you shouldnt be putting only a cd player in it ...

Great bag have had it for about 9 months only problem is that the velcro has worn off and the bag tended to undo itself as i was walking with it strapped on. Fixed that problem by going to the local shoe maker and having snap buttons placed on the strap to prevent it from coming undone. Go to my collection to see a picture of it.

A supa' sling bag! Not very large main compartment, so don't plan on packing too much. But for your basic carry-around, you couldn't ask for anything nicer. Cell-phone holder and grippy adjustable strap are top benefits! My brother also uses one for riding around on his Ducati ... so maybe some added functionality for those riders out there.

of course BLACK! all my bags are black :o))
this is the perfect size if you don´t have to much stuff which you must carry arround. with all the small pockets inside and outside you could store what ever you like in separate areas... a cellphone bag is included and a place for the walkman or ipod you will found easily. i like to wear it if i drive my bicycle because this modell is not to heavy.
i love it!!!!! everybody who´s gets one will be happy like me :o)))
