By looking at the latest pictures from flippj of his M Frames/Mumbos one question is rising up again to me (we discussed that already on o-addicts... but I'm still not sure...).

It is about the iridium colors available at the time for M Frame 1st GEN (without logo engraved on the lens).

So I'd like to know if the iridium on the crystal red strip pair, the black 67 pair and the white sweep pair (top left) are the same (on the picture from flippj)?

If so, what is the name of that iridium color?

Not sure which ones you're referring to, but the Strip lens he has is +Red.

The original catalog says "Red", "Blue", "+Red", "Black".



BUT I am really wondering if there isn't other... maybe like ORANGE or something like that...

Dann I think you have a pair with clear frame and a lens you called ORANGE MIRROR.

Is that in fact the one called RED on the catalog?

Really curious to find out what flippj says about his lenses...

Anyway... I remember it said "RED iridium" for the one bottom left.

as dann said, the strip lense is +red, i think the others you are referring too are fire iridium as i believe, unless someone correctsw me, that the orange iridium only came in the blade system.

looking at the ones you mentioned the carbon fibre (black) with 67 lense is a +red the same as the strip and the white mumbo/sweep is fire iridium.


in fact all the lenses on that row including are +red looking at them in person now.

Orange Iridium also came with goggles, but that's another story, right ? ^_^

As for the Red Iridium, I'm happy to see that it's not the translater's fault. The last option would be a bad naming on the catalog... who knows ?

Well thanks Paul... I must be convinced again (?) that there is ONLY FIRE iridium (which in fact is called RED iridium on that catalog) and =Red Iridium...

I somehow always believed there was an ORANGE one that was the same as the one that was available on Eyeshades as François showed it and also Razor & Blades.

Orange Mirror came on Eyeshades and Blades. Then Orange Iridium, then Red Iridium, then finally Fire. All the same lens. Violet Iridium used to be Violet Mirror too, so yes the 'Red' on the M Frame catalog is Fire.

Yep... I think it is clear now... always was a bit confusing for me whether the name change meant an actual color change...
