Just wondered if anyone has the same problem that I have.

Sent my GMT in for standard battery repair, and it has come back fine except for the main watch isn't working - the second hand is not spinning at all. The world time and alarm are all keeping time fine, but the main clock is not working.

Dug up the manual, and followed all the instructions for resets etc and no luck, and Oakley UK is closed for the day.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, as this shouldn't really be the case for a watch such as this (Tag anyone ;)

second hand isn't supposed to spin...It's not actually a second hand, but part of the stopwatch timer function...I thought the same thing on my Judge before, and they said not supposed to spin, that's what eats the battery faster. If I'm not mistaken, the hand in the left middle dial is the second hand..That should move, but the main one we are used to calling a second hand isn't. Hope that helps. None of mine move (the large one in the middle) tanks, judge, holeshot...

Sorry, should have made it clearer. On the GMT, the small left dial is the second hand, and that is the one which isn't spinning. The main one, which selects the time zone, will move properly when A and B are pressed.

hhhhmmmmm, odd. have you messed with all the buttons? I assume you have but just have to ask...Also, I know in my tank there is a way to reset the hands individually, not sure if you can do that with a GMT..

I've had a good play, but nothing seems to get the hand going... Is there a super super reset perhaps?

My brother just took his GMT to H.Q. cause the date portion was not working. They told him that it is a known problem with them and since they're discontinued, he is $hit out of luck....

Reason they were discontinued is because the company that made the movement for the GMT said it was too complicated to make and because Oakley was the only one using it that they would no longer be making it, or any replacement parts. (basically they told Oakley they were SOL.)

So from Marks response it sounds like HQ has run out of back up parts and cant get anymore. That sucks, I am kind of surprised they wont do some kind of trade up like they do with the magnesiums and x-metals.

Acutally they told him that they would give him $100 for trde on a new one..... Like Josh said $550 watch & they'll give him 25% of the cost (per say) I was little surprised to say the least..

That's not nearly enough....$200 would be good, but even then, it's not worth it, you'll still need to pay taxes.

So much for buying new/used gmt's now.

I would think $200 would have been a little better. (I dont want to Jinx it) but I have 2 GMT's and have never had that problem?????

I really hope that isn't the case, as I am already a little frustrated with having to send it back more than once. Will give Oakley a ring tomorrow, and will let you know what they say.

Does anyone know if HQ still has spare band links (honed) for the GMT, or what the sku might be?
