I bet we didn't even need to worry about how ruby those ruby lenses looked back then!

I actually wish the OR was around back then to record the collector reaction from the initial release wave (the ones released for the X-men movie). The outcry from how Ruby Iridium looked compared to its movie counterpart would've created a legendary thread (with me being well in the middle of it). I don't think fans (Oakley or X-men) were expecting how the lens turned out. While it was solid red, it really did become yellow towards the edges, and the existence of any yellow is what bugged everyone back then.

Then when X3 came out weren't the pennies 425? I know I jumped on them but damn, thinking back that was the most I dropped on a single pair and I doubt I will ever do that again.

Yep, that 2006 Ruby Juliet/Penny reissue brings back memories:

Can't believe that was 7 years ago already.

Must be in 2004 or so. I believe I had the darker design with the grungey headers by 2005. Plus I had an audience so just having a bunch of personal friend decorate the site, didn't seem suitable.

I'm sure I'm not the only one - but I still remember the day I found the Oakley Review. The circumstances, the excitement, still etched in my mind.

Just goes to show you, that relatively short list of life events that stay with you - the o-r is right there.
