Does anyone have any info on these? I know of 5 pairs. I have this one that a friend just picked up for me. Thegroundpounder99 and GRFMotorsports each have one. One just sold on eBay for $185 or thereabouts and one is still listed for $415 (lol).

I've heard several stories each as unlikely as the last so I'm curious if anyone knows the story on them. All 5 seem to be screen printed Flames and none have a box and nobody knows a sku.

Putting my 2 cents in, I know very little about them, but I can say that a member posted a pic of his 3 pairs a long time ago (2007 or 2008, something like that) and at least one other member had one. Not sure if these were sold and became one of the 5 you noted.

I've always suspected they were Sales Meeting favours. I forget when Oakley started it, but these days they provide one pair themed for men and another for woman during Retail Assault. One of the more well known ones back in the day were the Heineken and Rust GCs. I always thought these Pink Flame SJ were for similar reason, but it's really just a guess.

I also heard there were 7 hand painted ones. They took the stock Black, painted the flames and then put them at Spectrum to see how they sold. I had one for a while, but couldn't really verify the story, so they didn't really remain special for me.

I haven't been able to verify anything either. I asked Jim about it. He said he sort of remembered it but couldn't recall any details. Oh well, it'll remain a prized piece in the collection. A friend saw it on eBay and didn't even ask, just bought it for me.

Now to hunt the blue one!

Oakley did those as part of a fundraiser way back when and they stand as the unofficial first BREAST CANCER AWARENESS pairs of glasses ever done- we only made 50 for the women atet were attending an event in San Francisco, at that time.
