Good morning everyone!

Well, I recently found this at a thrift store, I paid about 10 dollars and my intention was to make just a pair of glasses for everyday use. The big plot twist is that no one can tell me if this is really legit, the stem is a model that is somewhat similar to the Boomstand, but the starting number OX5045 is from a Frag. This is kind of crazy, I just wanted to clear up this doubt. There is also a record of "Twin Shock" which is a technology used in both models, both the Frag and Boomstand share the same DNA. This is crazy, really, if it is fake it is a funny replica hahaha

Odd, since the Frag stem has the hollow bit in the middle:

And Twin Shock is thicker, but not that pattern:

But I think the main red flag is the Made in USA stamp, since metal frames and RX generally aren't made here. Assembled in USA would be the only closest thing.

It's all really strange, I just wanted to know if it's real or fake, well it seems that the rubber has unobtainium technology. This purchase was very funny, let's see how this story ends.

If I recall correctly I think the Twin Shock had a couple of different patterns on the temple. Kind of like how the Turbine original had different patterns you could pick form on the ear sock.

FEANDRIGODo you have a photo of the actual hinge from the inside of the frame you could post.

On a second look I think its probably a fake. Its printed as Made in USA, Im 99% sure by the time any of the RX frames you are mentioning were in productions no metal frames were being made in the USA anymore.

Back in the day the nose bombs would be a dead giveaway but now that Lux put screws in some of them it makes it harder to quick ID
