havent you noticed that almost everything on ebay related to oakley is RARE. These people are morons. I collected comics for years and RARE was 1 of 10 or 1 of 100 even, but how many cases are out there, even like this one. Its hype and there are even bigger morons that go...."Oh WOW, a Rare Oakley white Gascan, One of a billion made for $6,000, I have to get that" Some people are just suckers and the douches that sell like that just perpetuate a problem. I just stand back and watch the idiocy unfold!!
Those Shotgun cases are pretty rare but not anywhere close to being $3000 rare. This has all been gone over before though. The termination of rare is different to each individual. Towers of any kind should be considered on the rare side because they are not available to the public for sale and I know about anyone here would do anything to get them. That particular style has some age on it too. Aside from the sunglass analogy,I have 2 collector trucks, one a GMC Typhoon and the other a GMC Syclone. There were 2348 of the Typhoons that were made in the year mine is and just under 6,000 total for the 2 years and my syclone is number 284 of 2995. Both of these trucks are 2 of the rarest and hard to find collector pieces out there today and there were almost 9,000 of them made. Rare is in the eye of the buyer and how bad he or she wants a particular item. Also while I totally don't agree with the tactics of the big 3 douchbags on the bay. If they can somehow get people to pay those prices for the items that they offer than more power to them. I am a business man myself and I know if I can sell something for say $100 why in the hell should I sell it for $30?? The buyer sets the tone on this stuff and if he or she decides that they will pay that for an item than that is what that item is worth to that individual.
Looks like he has afew usernames on there. As there is a guy sell Blends, Paul Smith and Primitive frogs under another username but with his name in the photos?
You know I have supported the rights of scum like BMCc** to sell at whatever he can get. That it's a free market and if you can get it, you can get it. Heck, it's caused me to have bad words with my fellow members. But I really hate this guy. He trys to buy outside of eBay and then charges unbelievable prices for something he just paid $100 for. He has several accounts that I have tried to block and he still manages to win my listings. And yeah, it is our friend americanmuscle or whatever he previously to used. What I have been doing is offering $1 or $2 just to annoy him. If you notice he does not sell much, he just buys. Must be some rich trust fund baby or something.
I don't think there's any conflict between supporting his right to do it, and calling him on his crap. He'll laugh to the bank anyway.
As he has the right to sell what he wants, we have the right to speak out against it. I do see a difference in free market principles when you're just flipping items rather than buying stock, paying shop overhead, and gambling the existing of a business.
Those are fakes. He used his alter ego account to ask me to cut a bunch of left side ice lenses a while back but screwed up and sent responses from his blackberry signed "Wesley White" aka amermustang, toddles, oakleyoakely, vintageoakley, blah blah blah...He is scamming people big time with those BS pairs since the lenses are not original and I seriously doubt he has any hook up to get the authentic ones.
There are some stupid ass bidders out there. And it just had to be a scalper, too. It just encourages them. It's the second one he's sold for over $2k. Damn.
