We all know how comfortable these line of shoes are and I just have to start a thread on this because I am really impressed on how these shoe performed for a regular cilivians like us who don't use em' for combat
I just took a good look at my S.I. Assault Shoe which is about a couple of years old and men, after hours and hours of usage, this guy still rocks and stands like new.
I recently went on a Vegas trip and brought this with me because of it's light weight for carry-on. I walk the strip at least twice on that trip and also just last week, I walked DownTown SF for 30 blocks up and down the hill and I never stopped until I had to go home. The bus would have just cost me $2 with transfers but believe it or not, I chose to walk because of the shoes! So go get one if haven't!
I work on Wet slippery floors and the assault shoes
dont have any grip on this type of surface. On Hot asphalt they stick like glue. Great Shoes all around but I wish Oakley would come out with a sole for us Multi-Surface people.
If you guys check out Sole Collector magazine, there's a write-up on the SI Assault shoe. Sole Collector is basically like an O-review for sneaker fanatics. They also feature a few of Oakleys other kicks. They happen to show an unreleased white camo assault shoe low.
I noticed the retail has dropped from $195US down to $155.
When I'm in Minnesota in Dec I'll be picking up a pair again.
The last 2 pairs I've had were to small then to big. 12.5 should be perfect, but i'm not buying again till i can try theem first.
Kicksology had the same pic and said it was a very limited colourway. Either way, it is different than the Snow Camo. The ones pictured have a hint of blue to them and solid black; the Snow Camo are grey/white.
I've got to say, I'm very impressed with the comfort and durability of my S.I. shoes. After over a year of nearly constant wear, only the sole looks slighly worn. However, I suppose the trade off for this is the low traction on slick surfaces and their annoying tendency to squeek for quite some time after becomming wet.
The Chicago Vault had the white camo-low available if anyone is ever up there....I'm beginning to think I should have gotten a pair.
I bought my Black SI's the day they were available from O.Com...(Years ago?) I wear them every day - they've been thru hell, rivers, the gym, and the dishwasher....they are the most comfortable and durable shoe I have ever encountered aside from the Flesh....Picked up the Night Camo at Hollywood O in May - and last weekend in Chicago was the first time I've worn them bacause the black ones refuse to die....Again, much like the Flesh, as Dann said, I have worn completely thru the inner sole but these things refuse to give up.
