Since we started talking cars, I just want to share my pride and joy with you guys.

It's a Sylva Striker. An English build kitkar, build on what used to be a Ford Cortina, assembled in 1998. Bought it about a month ago, after saving pennies and dimes for about 15 years.

edit: 570 kilo's / 1600 cc / 140 bhp / 0 - 100 km in about 6 sec.

Thanks man!

With all due respect for everyone driving Vettes and Fords, the best sportscars ARE built in England.

whoops....might this lead into fierce discussions? ;-)

Fred, are they old enough to move out of the house yet?

A Bowler indeed is one....well you know. Did you see them in action in the Paris Dakar Raid?
The guys from Top Gear, the BBC program, have tried realy hard to brake it down, but without luck...

Do you know anyone that would!?!
Yeah, my husband would prefer the Bentley coupe. I dunno, I think the db9 is at least as comfy, certainly more fun, and faster. ;)

Not that the Bentley is a slouch. Doesn't it have the Volkswagon Phaeton engine in it?

I'm not a huge car expert, but told ya I was no girly-girl, and yes I do watch Top Gear Xtra. :-)

I may have posted this elsewhere, but for the sake of the thread, here's a lovely Bugatti for you...

There's only two originals in the world; Ralph Lauren owns one of them (and I don't own the other one, in case you were wondering).

Justin, tell your dad not to sell that 240Z. That's a girls magnet. I own a 82 280zx and I could tell that people look and ask about it more than the "corvettes and porsches" (sorry guys) that my friends have. Everytime we hang out together, people just ignore their ride and girls ask if they can ride in my car. Also Datsuns are prone to rust so better keep an eye on that. Is your dad a collector of Z? If he is, he knows what I mean.

My highschool car is still my favorite of all-time. My 1967 Dodge Charger with a 383. Couldn't afford the 7 miles-to-the-gallon gas mileage so I got a 1986 Dodge GLH Turbo. Carroll Shelby engineered. I'm surprised I never killed myself. I really miss both of them:

Some real nice cars there guys. Mine’s no classic but here goes… It’s a 96’ JDM (Jap domestic model) Toyota Glanza V. 1330cc intercooler turbo. Bet you guys didn’t know they even made car engines that small right? :) It’s a small car but that means it only weighs about 850 kgs so it does 0-60Mph in 6 seconds. Right now it’s pretty much stock standard cept for a K&N filter, Greddy piggyback and wastegate. Been meaning to put some O-stickers on it but can’t decide where to put em.

GRRRRRRRRRRR...

My not-too-subtle attempt to make it into the PW club…

Am I crazy or does it look like Oakley was behind the design of the Toyota emblem!!?? and yes.. the car needs a wash :)

Sorry if the pics are too dark, used a phone-cam. There's a couple more in my Gallery.

Brian,

Indeed it is based on the Seven; the Lotus Super Seven to be exact. Caterham actually continued the Super Seven with Lotus permission and is the only manufacturer that is allowed to use the name 'Super Seven.
The difference between Caterham, Westfield, (early) Donkervoort and Sylva is that the Sylva is enginered for racetracks, with Spaxx suspension and all.

Rick,

Some 10 years ago I had the opportunity to buy a Charger for about $3.000,- but had no money. That car is awesome!

Eshan,

I had a car about that size, black also, and put red scattered skull stickers on the doors: down below in the front corners. That looked mighty mean!
