I had to seem edit my razr to get it to play nice with Cingular's network (it's an unbranded V3). but I got sick of the call quality.

so, I picked up the new Cingular 8135 (HTC STRTRK). WindowsMobile5, similar size to the RAZR, One of the highest signal strength ratings, etc.

I'm currently switching between the Nokia 8801 and the HTC Universal (branded as Vodafone v1640)... Rocking them on Cingular. Too bad the Universal doesn't have the 850 band.. but I love the fact that it's a clamshell pda with a swivel VGA screen. :)

Works pretty well, actually. Just in some areas around here, 850 is almost a necessity. It set me back about $750 way back when, and I got it unlocked for additional cash before the guys at xda-developers finally came out with a free solution. I'm thinking about selling it on ebay for $600 or $650, actually, since I don't use it as much as I used to. But it's nice. I watch anime and movies on it... and I have a PSX and SNES emulator on it. ;p

How do you like Nextel? I was contemplating them.
To tell you the truth, IMHO-They all work good and or better in some ways or the other, but really they ALL have some quirks or problems so none of them are perfect in my area of the country or w/ service. I would like not to have to be tied to a phone all day while I am awake, sound familar??

How did we manage without these burdens...?

I like the feel and build of it but the features are OK. It is more for the feel and looks! I love my SE 810i better.

Hey Jumpman , you're from the bay right?

Nice white 810i. I bought mine befor it was available. I'm really impressed with how the screen an camera lens holds up to daily use. I throw this thing in my pocket with little care and it still has no marks on it.

I rock a verizon chocolate, great phone, id take a pic but its kind of hard to take a pic when you're trying to take a pic of what you're using to take the pic.

I have 5 handsets for various uses. The Motorola A1000 is my main handset. I also own two Razr's, one regular and one V3x, a Sony Ericsson slidey phone camera and an old Samsung Matrix clamshell. In the UK, cellphones are virtually disposable. I have around two dozen from the past three years' upgrades, lol.

I work at a Verizon dealer & I have the Samsung Sch-a930. It's red & pretty cool looking It has all the standard high-phone options but I got mine before it changed to the Vcast music format so I can still rock MP3's on mine. I'm seriously looking at the Samsung Sch-a990 though. 3.2Mp cam & advanced voice recognition so it can do speech-to-text

T-Mobile SDA- one of the HTC rebrand smartphones with Win Mobile.

Has Wi-fi and mp3 functions and all that jazz and it's hacked to stream music- but mono only until I can figure out where to get firmware updates.
