With so many threads starting on RUBY items, this thread has been started to contain it all in one area.

Hopefully everyone will contain their thoughts, comments about anything RUBY to this thread.

This thread should end up going in many different directions about RUBY but will always remain about RUBY, and save having multiple threads on similar subjects.

So please post what ever you want in this regard, use it as a reference and remember if you have a RUBY post to make, make it here.

ENJOY!

My brother's off to Germany for a year, so I'm displaying his best pairs at my house for the time being. One of them being his deep red Juliet. Course it makes me want one, but whatever. It it a beautiful thing though.

Mine are X001818. The lenses look 'first gen' to me based on pics I've seen on this site.

I'll probably send them in soon for a tune-up and a second set of rubies. Any recommendations on who to ship them through? How much does it cost to insure the package?

You can USPS Priority with tracking and insurance for no more than a couple extra bucks on top of the $3-4 shipping cost.

I'm tempted to insure it for close to $1000 in value since they're so expensive to replace. If they get lost in the mail, is there any chance that Oakley would put together a replacement pair for me with a normal x-metal frame (even though it wouldn't be serialed)?

Well take the lenses out for starters. The frame is easier to track down. You could rebuy an X-metal/black one for a few hundred and rebuild it. But it's risky since I'm sure you want to keep that low serial.

So you got a tune up and new lenses? Are they just going to send the frame back to you the same way you sent it in (without the earstem)?

Also, does the earstem use the same screwdriver (I don't have them in front of me and I can't picture what the screw looks like)?

How much was the frame replacement Justin? Warranty or not? Also, arent you afraid of the new frame and your old earstem being slightly different in color? Theres always that chance, which is why when only specific car panels get repainted, you have to feather the panels next to them so theyre also the same color. Good luck man.

The X-metal finish doesn't really discolor. Plasma does. Carbon hasn't been around long enough to tell.

Ruby Tuesday's Corporate Office is in my hometown. They bought out the best gym my area has ever had and turned it into a building full of cubicles.

Oh yeah, Ruby Juliets and Pennys are nice, I will get another someday when the craze dies and prices fall.

Hmm rugby only rules in QLD and NSW. In VIC, WA and SA it's Aussie Rules (AFL). I'm an Aussie Rules boy through and through.

Which has nothing to do with ruby. Ruby OTT's look freakin sick! One of my favourite combos, those.
