that other company's one is a cool idea. it's a branch of the one that the "watch part" clips into different sweatbands and housings.

Titanium, a member from France ask me if I could find out if Oakley could/would released the watch in a smaller size at some point ?

Like Oakley did with the small Icon and the Icon, I think they could do that but that it would not be for a while.

If someone knows, please let me know; here or by PM, thanks.

Same here. Icon was a bit of a wannabe TimeBomb...doubt that we'll have a wannabe Time Tank...no offense to Icon wearers, it's a beautiful watch...but you get my point.

Who says Oakley hasn't shipped them out yet? Just because they are not on the website doesnt mean O-Stores and the Rolling O wont have them this weekend.

I think it's in bad faith to complain about getting (or not getting, as the case may be) the newest releases on eBay.

Doesn't really help oakley to buy off ebay. I always get the latest stuff retail and save ebay for discontinued stuff.

It dosesn't hurt Oakley by buying off of eBay it helps Oakley, they sold it to a dealer who sells on eBay for the same price they sell it to a dealer who sells in a retail store.

It hurts the dealers who follow the rules and dont sell on eBay but dealers that do sell on eBay sell more product and in turn generates more revenue for Oakley. It's not right IMHO but I would guesssome dealers can't support themselves on local sales alone.

One thing to always remember not everyone has a retail store in their town or has one who has a good selection and cares about their customers. I would rather buy from eBay then support my local dealer who has a terrible selection and who also when I order somthing takes 6-8 weeks to get because he only places bulk orders when he gets so much stuff to order.

Jason, maybe if you bought less on eBay and more from him, he could afford to carry more stock, and place more orders. The reason dealers do the things you are describing is because they have to make a living. If the demand is low for a product (which is what happens when people buy from eBay instead of the store) dealers can not afford to have high stock levels. Is not good business practice to carry lots of inventory than no one is coming in to buy. It ties up money you need to order the things people do come in to buy. By not frequently buying from the OPD you are actually making the problem worse.

It dose hurt Oakley. There are no TURE authorized Oakley dealers on eBay, unless they have buy it now’s for full retail. Other wise they in breach of contract and there for not authorized dealers whether they have been caught or not. The people that are selling in bulk on eBay are not the kind of people that place regular wholesale orders from Oakley (which is how Oakley makes money). Typically they have bought in bulk from some shop going out of business or they have got the product buy some other “under the table” way.

Further more the more consumers think eBay is the better alternative, the more OPD will loose business, the more OPD loose business the less product they order, the less product they order the less money Oakley makes, the less money Oakley makes the less R&D they can afford and so on and so forth. Then some of the OPD have to go out of business or at least get out of Oakley all together, to try and cover some of there loss the sell all their shades in bulk to some guy who says he will take it off their hands for X amount of dollars, then it ends up on eBay and the cycle begins a new! Thus hurting the brand not helping it. ( I could go on a whole rant about how this causes the normal non Oakley fanatic to devalue the brand causing more problems but I will restrain for now)

Ok rant over, please resume you normal love of the O and the Time Tank.

Sorry for the rant, I have no personal anger at anyone on this board and none of my rant was intended to offend anyone. Just my personal view of choosing eBay over ANY local dealer (weather it be SGH, and OPD, or an Oakley owned store), when buying new non discontinued product.

Like Fred and Dan, I think eBay is just fine for discontinued items, or other Items you could not normally get, or order from a retailer.
