well said. a lot of what happened is still very personal to talk about, but i've been gettting better about discussing certain events that happened that day. to ths day i still have trouble watching any footage of it on t.v. and i find myself needing to change the channel.

i think i have to stop... my thoughts are with everyone today.

quite possibly the last photo i took of the towers, from my old college dorm room.

I think everyone still remembers where they were when they saw that footage. I still can't believe that happened and that some people are cruel enough to premeditate such a crime.

I was there, heard the jet go over my office building, heard the explosion. then I witnessed the second plane collide with the other tower...

Difficult to describe the emotions involved-
truly a dark day in american history.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the victims..

I was working across vessy street at 90 church street when the first plane hit we were told to stay inside, after the second plane hit we decided to evacuate on our own. we mustered in front of City hall park when the first tower came down, made it to canal street by the time the second tower came down. I work for a city agency so we had a command center set up along with trucks and emergency equipment at Houston st. we worked straight until 2Pm the next day did not get home until after 10 pm. My sister also works for the City of new York and we used to always meet up for lunch at the wtc plaza. On September 10th 2001 we walked the entire mall of the wtc she bought a pair of sunglasses for my mother and needed to return them to sunglass hut the one in wtc gave her a hard time so we walked all the way to the WFC side to the other sunglass hut, I also remember a construction crew installing plasma tvs the entire legnth of the west street overpass that coneccted the wtc to the wfc dont know why but i just clearly remember that, strange how life is me and my sister spent a good hour and a half walking that mall and the plaza we would never have imagined it would be the last time, and my sisters birth day is September 11 ( she does not like telling people that that day is her birthday) so that morning i was in the halmark store in the mall at 8:15 am buying her a card. we finally moved back to 90 church last summer took some getting used to though but i guess its more acepting that getting used to.

Wow Brennan, Bong & Jose. Incredible stories. I can only imagine the fear, confusion, & sadness you must have felt. As your fellow O reviewer, this is as close as I will ever get to that aweful day. Thank you for sharing your difficult memories, I hope it eventually makes it easier on you.

yeah... I know this is an old thread, but I was just searching it to see if whatever I posted has the same effect on my as today.

Sad to say, some of it still remains. I still cannot watch the footage of the Twin Towers on TV, and will have to turn away or switch the channel, it's still too close to home.

I can say I'm open enough to talk freely about my experiences though. I also admit therapy helped as well.

Since moving away from the city out to NJ, today was the first time I went into Manhattan in quite a long time, to get a root canal at the dentist! The dental office is nearby City Hall, so I instinctly look up at the sky, knowing I won't see anything, but I look up anyway...

It was a sad day exactly 8 years ago, and it's still a sad day today 8 years later. I just thought I needed to share. Thanks for reading.

Good of you to bring it back up Bro. I still remember - as I assume everyone does - the exact moment when it happened and where I was and what I was doing.

My thoughts and prayers still go out to the families and their losses.

Re-uploaded the last photo i took of the towers, from my old college dorm room.

The History Channel has been showing specials and documentaries all week long on 9/11, and I still have to change the channel everytime I come across it. I simply cannot watch it.

I'll never forget that day... never.

Never forget who killed them.
Trust that my boy is over there taking back from them what they took from us. My son? Yeah you can pretty much assume he is a major badass. TacP if that means anything. Also trust that - we are winning - if there is such a thing.

It seems like it was only last week. I was in Oz, staying in a thirty-seventh floor apartment in Sydney CBD. Woke up, switched the TV on, and on it was what looked at first to be some film about Hijackers smashing into a hi-rise building: it was only then that things started to sink in. Then, with some voyeuristic fascination, I watched as the second tower was hit. It seemed like some kind of dream, a nightmarish one, but a dream was unfurling before me. Sitting on the bed, watching, speechless.....
