OK, lets discuss for those w/ ORANGE icons.
Tony and I both got ours from the same person, both of our boxes had the initials "SM" written on our boxes in blue ink...I suspect SM means "Sales Man" or "Small" due to A/f...Would others that have orange icons, can you check your box ends and chime in if yours have writing...thanks.

Check this out, seems to be a promo fo a movie coming out on some vanns shoes, a release kind of like the supreme glasses:

They are selling for about $200 for each pair on ebay. I think they are limited to 100 each on each series.

They had a release party for those last week in LA. There were a couple other artist there I believe.

And is it Simpsons related?

Phil, yeah they're being released to coincide with the release of the Simpsons movie. Flores did a limited edition Vans slip on with Homer on the shoe.

Yeah, a whole slew of artists contributed to the project, each doing their own shoe. It's really cool. Too bad it's so limited and expensive on the aftermarket, otherwise I would've gotten a pair of one of the other artists' shoes.

there are two versions... and yes they are expensive.

quick question for y'all. i have to of the DF gascans, one with the orange icon and one with the gunmetal. is one better than the other?

i'm sure this has been asked before, but i'm an o-review virgin and i haven't had the time to look through a year's worth of threads to find the answer.

It seems the ORANGE version seems to be a very small release has compared to the gunmetal which is more prevalent, but keep in mind they are both VERY LIMITED worldwide. I would be curious has to the s/n of your orange pair? See the barcode on the end of the box flap...

well my orange one i believe has a sn of 12. the other one just has a generic bar code. the sticker itself isn;t as big on the box as the other one

Hard to imagine that half of all DF1 has the orange icons, they sure seem to be a bit more coveted and harder to come by. Or it must just seem that way to me, since I didn't get the orange. bummer

Paul, I know of at least 3/w orange icons that just showed up: I got one, Toni got one, and this gent, so I don't know...seems odd all of a sudden their popping up though, I had a hard enough time getting the other version...
