Big WTF?? Can they make up their damn mind already what to call it...so annoying...What's next? At that pace we should have a new name for the 'watch' in 3-4 months...Looking fwded to it...

Do not know if this was already posted...if so, please lock...just felt like ranting...

Not too big on 'Minute Machine'. It sounds like a contraption a children's TV show villain would have made up.

Yeah, maybe the name will sound cool to the average buyer but for me, it sounds flimsy a bit for a name on such a watch...

Excuse me on this one, but I have to step outside the box...That sounds freakin' LAME!!! If Oakley were to name it that for good, they should color all subsequent models PINK and move them to the women's line!!! How in the hell are you going to take a massvie masculine piece of titanium, and put such a sissy like name on it? Cartier aside, Oakley has ingenious people there, and if all they could muster up is "Minute Machine", well, it sounds as if they are all neutered if ya know what I mean. Chronograph was better than that, and that was a kick in the groin. Try Time Trak, or something along the Tank theme, but Minute Machine, or the other one I heard, Gear Box???

They just need to call it the "Badassmutha" and be done with it.

I could care less about the name, they could call it the Huevos Rancheros Watch for all I care. Oakley engineering and design is all that matters to me.

I'm glad that the one I bought says Time Tank on it... And when someone asks... I keep calling it the TT.

Well, I think, they were close to getting it right. I mean we had a golf shoe called Daiys Cutter...that's giant big bomb, as far as I know. So I think they should have called the biggest, baddest piece of Oakley design "Minuteman". The name of a ballistic missile would have been appropriate I think!

Sorry for the rant post last night...however, it is still a shitty name for a watch like this. It is currently the Mother Of All Watches in the Oakley line-up...when I hear 'Minute Machine' I cannot help but have to think back when I was 7-8yrs old and had to have one of those plastic Batman or Superman watches you got in a McD's Kid Value Meals...

Oakley makes the coolest stuff, amazing technology, quality is top notch, coming up with pretty cool names for their products...but in this case, they HAD to outsource the naming-part to someone else...I refuse to believe that this came out of the 'House of O'.

In the end, I have my box which says TT...so I guess I am happy...

*Watch out...next you have BMW sueing them for using the word 'machine' and UMass for using 'minute'...Then they will name it the 'Tic Toc Engine'

I'm not a fan of the name "Minute Machine", but it isn't so bad. I mean, the name "Time Tank" wasn't exactly inspired. Or cool for that matter. To me, it's just changing one name for another. Though, I must admit the shortened form of "TT" makes me smile because of the dirty connotation.

can't use TT, Audi has it.

as for the name, i hate it... but i'm so used to calling it Time Tank, it's just gonna stick anyway. honestly, i agree with Marcel and they should've just have it named Chronograph instead of Minute Machine.

I don't chime in much, but here it goes anyway...I'm with OB and Oak on this one. Time Tank in my opinion wasn't the greatest name either, I thought it was a bit cheesy. Minute Machine does sound like a toy out of a happy meal and even though the right name can brand a product well and help it sell, I think the product in this case especially is what's important. Look at the thing, it's an awesome piece of "Oakley." I think most of us actually buy Oakley because of the kind of products they make and not because of what they're called. If you let the name keep you from buying such a work of art then it's your loss. Heck it's not like Minute Machine is plastered in neon on the face of the thing.

Point taken...however, the name is part of what sells a product, as you stated (along with sex of course 8D )...I personally would not like to drive a Ford 'Pony' over a Ford Mustang...(granted I would not drive Ford at all, but that is a different story)..I'm not saying that if it does not work for me, it will not work for ohers...we are all different...thank god...but it doesn't change the fact that the product name is part of the selling point for consumers...I'm sure some people will love 'Minute Machine'...it just does not do it for me...just sounds 'too cute' for the product it represents

That hurts, Ollie... but I understand why :-)

I don't feel like "the watch" has ever been given a fitting name. Like Ob said, it's the engineering that really matters, but a good name can only help while a bad name can act as a deterrent for potential customers.

Time Tank - not great but I think most people got used to it

Chronograph - booooring!

Minute Machine - is this a joke?

Like I said, not too impressed with the 'Minute Machine' name, but yeah, I really don't think that the name is something to blow a Gasket over. A lot more pressing issues out there, but I guess you can keep the label on the box facing a different direction when you display it or something.
