Beta Titanium isn't considered Flexon or memory metal. It's just a springy curved hingless stem. I wouldn't do to them what you can do with Flexon.
You and I know that but most customers don’t. I get customers all the time that say look what I can do with these (Beta) and then bend the arms around. I have also seen SGH and Iacon employees do the same. Thats why I said that with "memory" in quotes.

salesmanvoice : Now you’re not paying for just a "Rimless Wire" your paying for a premium lens with the hydrophobic coating and HDO, and a premium frame material Nanowire memory metal.:[/salesmanvoice]
That is too funny! And true! It works!

It says 8.75 base lens. I thought up to now Oakley lenses were 8 base? So the new ones will be curved more?

I'm pretty sure Plate and Unknown are 8.75; there's variation among models depending on the style. I don't know if it will be hugely noticeable if at all. If someone knows differently, please correct me.

Anyone got pics of the square metal, is it like a square wire 2.0?

if it is i think i'd be slightly disappointed. as classic as the Square Wire 2.0 is, i'm hoping for something new. besides, i think the Square Wire 2.0 seems too small nowadays.

I though it was too smal back in those days. God I hope it;s not like that and that was pre 2002 anyway.

I have heard nothing about a square metal x metal. SQ 2.0 is a dead frame so I dont thing there would be an xmetal come out that looks like it.

There you go then, I have been purposely steering members away from the proper guess. Yeah... that's what I was doing. ; )

Haha, shame that the half-x is slated for a november release.. i'd really like to see it come out sooner, along with more specifics..

Yeah, although the rumoured 3 that were suppose to be out this year would've been too much, I would've liked to have seen two X-metals released this year--one to have been released for the Spring and one to be released for the holiday season. Oh well, perhaps we'll see another one as early as next Spring in time for the Olympics.

More likely a November release becomes a December release and won't be too widely available until Spring : (

I don't. Are you giving me hope that there'll be two?

With the name Half-X two could mean Half-X and Half-XLJ. Fingers crossed this isn't too similar to the Romeo 2.

Good point. I didn't consider the different versions of the same model could be considered as two releases.

why release sunglasses in the winter, is it just me or is that really dumb? i guess they've done their research...

i think as much as i love the x metals, they need bringing bang upto date, another r2 would be pretty lame.

You're acting as if the sun just goes away in the winter time so that there is no need for sunglasses. Lets not also forget the Christmas season as well as sunglasses are a great gift.

dude, i live in england, the sun comes out for two days in june, the 12th and 15th, both week days so we miss it cos we're at work.

i was kidding! yeah i know for skiing and stuff, but i'd aim to release the popular new stuff in the summer and the quirky shit in the fall.

They at least get two or three basic colorways out by the holidays this way and create furvor for what usually ends up being better combinations come spring.

The sun doesn't have to be out.... a bright overcast day can create a lot of glare, which will require sunglasses.
I wear mine every day, I just can't handle the glare on those cloudy days.

Anyone have an actual nailed down release date for the new Nanowire and New Square Wire other than May or Q2? I've been holding off on getting a certain pair in the hopes of getting one of these, but I don't know how much longer I can fight it.

If they ever say May, think the end of May. If they ever say June, think the end of June. My logic behind this: two trips to the motherland, one in May and one in June, and I was looking for releases both times that should have been out the month I was there and I barely made it home each time finding the items I was looking for and I was there at the ends of the the months.
