How does the lens coverage on the Bottlecap compare to that of the Half Jacket XLJ? I was just wondering if the Bottlecap is close to the standard HJ or the XLJ, or somewhere in between. Thanks.

It's prob on par with the standard HJ lens for height, but it's wider than a Half Jacket. Closer to the new Flak Jacket.

I thing that belongs to you, you should really try it. For me the Bottlecap works awesome, the lenses coverage is better and the frames feels better than the HJ (XLJ oder usual lenses). I think the Bottlecap lenses have a better form for me so they close with my face like they were made for it. But if you want to compare the lense size, I think it's more like teh XLJ, but with a more unobstrusive lenseshape.

Thump Pro and Bottlecap have a different anchor system. BC is like the HJ and the TP is not. I already tried BC lenses in the Flak and vice versa, and I foget which but one is a mm off from the other (width) and will shake and not stay in place.

Sorry, I was confusing the Rockr lens as that has the odd tabbed lens unlike the others. I'll try BCs lenses in a Thump Pro tomorrow night at work.

The thing is, it fits, but technically your not supposed to because it won't pass Oakley ANZI standards. So for Impact protection, it wouldn't be the best combo; but for looks, it works just fine.

All I know is I immediately swapped my Thump Pro lenses for my Fire HJ lenses the day (actually before) I got them for Xmas last year and have been wearing them to the gym ever since....

And they stay in? Aren't HJ lenses slimmer than BCs or Thump Pro lenses.

HJ lenses fit in my Bottlecap great--even better than the Bottlecap lenses themselves. The BC lenses seem to fit a little loose and make rattling noises. I love the way the bottlecap fits, I just wish there was some unobtanium on the nose, so there would be less possibility of slippage when sweating alot. They seem to grip the head fairly well without it. I'm just not sure I like the feel of plastic sitting on my nose. It feels kinda like cheap drugstore sunnies.

I found the HJ lenses to pop out of my Bottlecaps.

I think the advantage of the Flak Jacket is more unobtanium and one can customize the fit with the different size pads.

I run the larger nose pads when running as this keeps the upper part of the lens further from my face.
