I was just thinking about the event today, and how much fun it was meeting all of you and realized I have not logged in in forever! It is about to get crazy for me, black Friday is just around the corner with a lot of hot new product!

seeing that pic that Dustin had posted on facebook that Travis took got me thinking of all the fun that was. Can't wait for what Oakley and the future bring to the table.

I gave up on the guy who was going to print the labels, so I'm brought them home. I have them ready to go, just need to print off the covers, which I can do anywhere. Then it's a matter of getting mailers. Any idea where I can pick those up fairly cheaply.

A lot of times you can get lucky and find those paded mailers marked down at someplace like office depot.

I just ordered a pack on Amazon, so I'll see if Phil and I can get a cover printed up again. Hopefully there's still interest in this.

I just presumed it was delayed a bit so the DVD could ship with our tickets to the next 'gala' included. Pretty much the same as when they include the DVD and digital copy with a blu ray, right? LOL

What exactly was the contest? How did people prove that they were Oakley enthusiasts? Just give a list of all the stuff they own with pictures? If they do this contest again this year... would someone like me ever be able to win since I only own 2 pairs of some of their (almost) cheapest eyewear?

no the contest was about your devotion and loyalty to the brand. Alot of guys here have an exorborant amount and unfortunately were not chosen, hopefully they are first in line in the next one, as they are quite devoted i am sure, but it is not a stipulation or consideration based on how much you own. As for me I refuse to use anything other, I dont care if Lux is using the tech in other brands. Until Disney buys out Vivid, Make mine Oakley!!! Thats what the contest was about.

Edit: P.S. I Would Love A DVD!!!

if you bleed Type - O blood, live, eat, and breathe everything Oakley, then you would have had a 1 in several hundred chance. If not, you would have been weeded out like the thousands who did.

Like said above, it's all about your devotion. There were a couple guys that easily should have been there that didn't which really sucked for us and them. There were some that did go that could have been questioned, but we were all judged by volunteer employees at HQ, and the decisions were made. I think it was way cool just to get the chance let alone win. No matter where you reside (foreign or domestic), no matter how many pair you own, and no matter how minuscule you think your collection is in comparison out here, it is your heart and dedication you are showing off and you should enter if given the chance. Never let any doubts or people hold you back!!

Anyone else find it interesting that the Co-Pilot page on Loopd still has the "over till next year" banner? Did they just forget about it or are they actually working the next contest?

I think we had heard about it by this time last year, so I wouldn't count on it. Chances were slim that it would be a yearly thing, but slightly higher that it wasn't just a one-off. This is all unofficial of course.

Yea, I remember having a conversation with Joanne about the whole event. I remember her saying she would like to be able to do it yearly, but that it was something yet to be seen. I guess I was just hoping they hadn't siply let the site fall by the wayside. =)
