I'm thinking I may be holding on to my wad of cash at the "Gathering" 'til the May releases....

Time will tell - so to speak.

I'm sure it's cool in person. Most of those who've seen it love it.

Whow, thanks for the infos!

Does somebody has a pic of the Splice Google?

That square juliet sounds very interesting imo! I hope it does not go into the whisker/square wire direction, like the Half X that is living next to the razrwire, half wire etc.

BLAH!!!!

2 new holeshots announced have my attention, but the rest....Negative! Supposed to be a new custom program too I heard. Anxious to see what you can do to a watch and which ones will be on the list. I would love to "Pimp My Tank" haha...

I can't imagine what a square version of a Juliet would look like, but I hope they bring back flex couplers. They really give the X-metals a distinctive look.

I also think that this is the boring thing about the half-x - the front is made out of one piece. The 3-piece design with the bolts/dots (not sure about the correct term) of the front is a major-design-element of the x-metals imo.

Yup, you & Oak are talking about the same thing.

I agree - X-Metals should all have that design ''base'' at least. For the nosebridge, that is. Aside from looks, there is a very specific function related to it, as it allows for wtv nose shape or size or height to still fit the glasses perfectly in front of your eyes.

That's a good point, Alex. The flex couplers really do allow for a universal fit.

But then you have the problems with the either too-loose or fused couplers. Can't win.

They could always try to improve on it, just like they improved on their spring hinges.

I know people have had issues with the couplers being a little loose, but has anyone ever had them fall apart?

I have seen some pretty well dusted, but you have to beat the crap out of the glasses to do that, and they have to be old as dirt...My neighbor has a plasma pair that the stems at the ends where they are larger to hold the earsox on have worn completely smooth and his couplers are still good. It is amazing the things are still okay to wear, but as a good neighbor, I tightened them up, tossed him a set of lenses, and put on all new trim. He was crazy happy!!

In my experience, the couplers prior to 2005 (ie. before the discontinuation of the serials) were solidly built and didn't have much in terms of uneven tension. I noticed more coupler issues after that time. Maybe it's because of me paying more attention, or maybe it's been a lapse in QC. I can't say for sure.
