If I were a betting man, I'd say they'll go with an aviator-type frame (like in Wolverine: Origins) since it's a prequel. Would be nice to see a new X-metal, though. Maybe in X4.

though i would like to see a new one in the next movie as well, i doubt that it would be a penny or juliet style as that would be to close to cyclopse's and he died at the end of that last one.

Well since new X-Metals don't come around every year, shouldn't we expect PERHAPS a cool version of the X-Squared?

With today's annoucement of James McAvoy playing Prof X, they're bringing it WAY back. I'd be surprised if Cyclops is even in the movie. Might not even see any sunglasses in X-men: First Class, unless of course they created a new character to wear glasses.

I'm pretty sure the first class is typically considered Cyclops, Jean Grey, Beast, Iceman and one other that escapes my memory right now. May still see some glassed, but I would expect a classic frame because they are going to have to set the move back in the 80's

The lineup will depend on how close they want to stick with the movie continuity or if they want to do a whole reboot. Angel didn't come into the X-men until well later, Iceman was only a teenager in the X-men movies, and the school was set up for something like 15 years already by the first movie. Prof X was still pretty old when they found Jean Grey in X3 and Cyclops in Wolverine, but McAvoy is pretty young. We'll see what direction they head in. It'll be very interesting for X-men fans at any rate.

The movie centers around Prof. X and Magneto when they are young and still friends. It tells the story of them learning to use their powers and how they got to be on opposite sides. So I could be wrong but I don't think we will see to many of the other main Mutants unless they are ones that don't age or age slowly (ie Wolverine and Sabertooth).

I have not heard that it is meant to be a reboot, so hopefully they stick with the previous movies/comic book time line which would make it a period peace (much like they are rumored to be doing with Captain America)Magneto lived through the concentration camps and meet Xavier shortly there after so I hope it is set in that time period.

I'd love to see an Inmate-esque X-Metal. Romeo style...

Well, it says it's set in the sixties, so I'd guess we're not going to be seeing any hi-tech shades in this film: more like big oval framed shades.

Being a period piece, it would've been a great opportunity to product place glasses from some of Oakley's vintage-inspired brands, like Oliver Peoples.
