The Oakley Book is now online.

40 Years of Design and Innovation

You already know the unmistakable “O” logo and the famous faces that helped cement the brand as a global icon of high performance and rebel style. Now get to know the real story behind Oakley, a company dedicated to—and driven by—cutting-edge vision. Since 1975, Oakley has been synonymous with breaking boundaries of technological possibility and aesthetic banality, an ethos carried forward by a group of mad scientists never content to iterate, only looking to reimagine and reinvent the very idea of performance eyewear, technical apparel, and wearable technology.

This is the story of big risks and bigger rewards—and the willingness to throw it all away and start again with a larger vision and greater ambition. This is disruption by design, futurism mixed with heritage, and vision without limit. This is the world according to Oakley.

I emailed Oakley Australia about this, we have it before Christmas and seems O store exclusive. Not sure if it will be. Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting a copy that's for sure.

O Stores, oakley.com, and the Publisher site, I believe will be the best bets.

Initially, one of my O Stores is going to have only 3 copies... Oh, what to do :P

**EDIT** Hmmm... can we use the 30% F&F on it????

Most stores are getting 4 copies. Some are left at the Calgary O Store (Chinook) if you're in the area. Really cool book. Good sketches of the Madman and other cool double page spreads of pics we've seen previously (like HD versions of them).

Someone used a VIP card, so I don't believe they are on restriction.

Been checking in for info about the book. Amazon has it, but it went from shipping yesterday to some time in December. They do however only want $125 and change for it. Not too confident in them though getting it here in good time.

Just curious, why does this book seem to have a lot of buzz? Just wondered why it is so special? It is a nice book but maybe I'm just not a book guy.

I think a lot of fans have been clamoring for a book for a long time, so it was destined to be a popular item when its released.

I ordered mine on AMAZON and it showed out of stock. Today I got an email stating a Wednesday delivery day thru my Prime account. I got it for $125 minus another $17 of reward points. Super stoked to get it.

I received mine today from Amazon. I did the “Pre-order Price Guarantee” which started out at 140.44 and ended up being 125.60 when it shipped.

My understanding Amazon got a bit of a scolding from both the Publisher and Oakley for that price. Also I ask at my local store about using Friends and Family on the book and they said there were absolutely no discounts not even for employees.

Wow, I hadn't heard about that. I just found it when looking and I thought the 140 was a good deal because I knew there weren't going to be any discounts on something new and special like that. So I took a chance and ordered it. They didn't even have a picture of it when I ordered it. Had the publisher so I was pretty sure that it was going to be the right thing.

Gloriously massive. It's comparable (and perhaps slightly larger) to Marvel's Adamantium Collection-sized stuff. Love it.

If anyone needs a book shipped outside the US or cant otherwise get their hands on one I can get some for you. My local store still has a couple left and all I ask for is what I have to pay plus shipping costs. Let me know if you need one. My costs with sales tax is $213
