Oakley Official Collector Events - Texas and Hollywood

Oakley is hosting collectors, fans, and a few surprise guests to celebrate and trade Oakley's most iconic products. Not to mention, discover products you can't see or purchase anywhere else. You are not required to display your collection. Although, if you think your collection has what it takes, sixteen attendees (per event) will have the opportunity to showcase their finest pieces for a "Best Collection" and "Best in Show" award.

Dates and Locations
December 4, 2014 - Hollywood, CA
December 8, 2014 - Houston, TX
December 10, 2014 - Frisco, TX

If you are interested in attending, please email *removed* to be sent a private invitation. You may only attend (1) of the collector events. +1's are accepted. Space is limited and RSVPs will be accepted on a first-come first-serve basis.

The person in Houston who displayed his/her collection on the Flying Tiger surfboard on simulated water should get an extra prize for creativity.

The hand stitched leather Detonator was my favorite watch there as it looked like the Wombat/Medusa!

Dann said he joined a few weeks ago but I don't think he's posted much :(

But Joe was a super down to earth dude and even though my friend Victor, the Bearded Wonder, couldn't make it I found a new friend in him who by chance also had a beard ;)

Agreed. I'm surprised at how little Oakley apparel I'm seeing at the events.

Doesn't anyone own Uncle Ben's Jacket. Would fit the dressy casual, and Oakley themed requirements.

THANK YOU FOR THE PICTURE AND KIND WORDS MATT!

I really enjoyed meeting you and since my +1 was ill also it was great hanging out!

The Oakley Houston Collector Event was AMAZING! I was so busy setting up and taking down the Collection and meeting the wonderful people from Oakley that I only took a few pictures, but I will post them later this evening.

Someone I see asked about the Last 10 Time Bombs. Chris Petrillo, the Category Manager for Oakley Watches was there at the Houston Collector event. Chris mentioned that there were 12 left in stock, so he had the idea that they should do something special with them. They gave 2 of them to Employees, and then the other 10 they had the special Carbon Fiber Interior Faceplate made and decided that they only wanted them to go to true Collectors, and not released to the general public, hence why they are only being brought to the Collector Events for purchase. Chris brought #7 and #8 to the Houston Collector Event.

Cheers!

It was the whole "Dressy Casual" thing sent out in the RSVP which is why I asked the manager, I think his name was Jason, what was acceptable for the night but when he said we could wear anything Oakley related I really wanted to wear my Mad Scientist Hoodie and old school shoes!

Yay! You're here Royal Lion Museum of Sunglasses :) It was really great meeting you Joe! And as both of our +1's were sick and couldn't make it, I'm glad I had you to lean on and talk to for the night!

To .Greg F.: I only recently started up a Facebook page called the "Royal Lion Museum of Sunglasses." Not much on it yet, but I will be posting more in the future as time allows. The Holidays are my busy season with my photography business.

Might need to adjust the privacy to public. Facebook linking is always dodgy.

And thanks for the support Joe. Matt had great things to say, and I followed your page on Facebook, so I'll continue to see what you have to share with us. Some great stuff already on there.

Oh! I REALLY need to say this!

For those of y'all going to the Frisco event, be sure and bring a silver of gold Sharpie for autographs!

Thankfully Royal Lion Museum of Sunglasses had a gold one lastnight and I think we all used it cause it was the only one that would show up on black lol!

Since the watch guru is in attendance, any chance you can ask about the Godwatch? Specifically, why is it $70k and what movement does it use?
