is it a good idea to get a sitepage where you can see what time it is in different timezones ( europe / asia / usa / australia / etc ?

so everybody knows what time it is when you start/reply a thread from that person

I thought the forum clock talked in whatever GMT offset you set it up in your profile?

Mine's always been GMT (offset 0), so it shows the post times relevant to my time zone. (ie someone might post at 1pm in the US, but it'll show up as 6pm for me).

If I'm correct then surely we don't need a world clock so long as everyone has their GMT offset set correctly.

Right, the server is EST, which then regulates to GMT, and then applies the user specified offset.

You guys have to remember that the Earth spins on it's axis and that axis is tilted. Does that help?

Speaking of which, the site doesn't seem to account for the fact that Hawaii doesn't observe daylight savings.

You prejudice, Dann?

By how many times you've yelled "It's a frickin Island, idiot!" to the number of tourists asking where the beach is.

Actually it's a complicated process. You have to take the total amount of people who ask if we live in grass huts, divided by the amount of time it takes for someone to finally realize that just because we live on an island, doesn't mean everything is withing walking distance, add to that the distance between each island (but only on the days when someone suggests you just drive to a location which is not on your island) and finally, multiply by the total weight of each knee-high sock and sandal wearing tourist on the beach.

And then you get the local time.
